Council will likely fob you off, so be ready to persist.
Put in an FOI request asking for when the road was last inspected and how many reports of potholes they have had in that location. If it's the first they know of the hole they don't have to pay, but if they had a report and didn't act them you have a better chance of winning a claim. Getting a photo of size and depth and any debris in the hole can help point to how long it has been there.

i may have a face of someone who headbutts tarmac on a regular basis . but i have been lucky so far - and if i had a bit more speed out of the roll last time i could have landed back on my feet with a "ta Daa"So why not use that method then, rather than your normal 'face planted into road"!?!

I've just got myself a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt. Only done 1 ride with it but very happy so far - I know a few other have them, and I'm wondering what you find the easiest way of uploading new routes onto it is? More specifically, I'd like to upload the DD routes to it which can be downloaded as a TCX file from Poltaroute. I also have a number of saved routes on Plotaroute which were on my Garmin which I'd like to put on the Elemnt. Do I need to move these routes from Plotaroute to RidewithGPS first? Thanks for any advice....

I used Komoot. It had great routes. The turn by turn instructions go with the LEDs on the ELEMNT. If kept me off any traffic heavy roads. Free for one area and a one time charge for the rest of the world.

Thanks Randy, I will have a look at that. It looks like it will be useful for creating new routes, but I was also wondering about existing routes currently saved on Plotaroute and how best to get these onto the Elemnt?
