Not really, I've never used Virb edit before so just took a few minutes to learn how to navigate and import video, also add gpx files. Google and YouTube help with quick learning!

I would suggest a fast powerful pc with a big hard drive, preferably non SSD.(my last SSD drive died with all the video processing).

Take the memory card out of GoPro and install into usb socket on pc to transfer files over, much easier than GoPro software.

Go to Town. If you are definitely wanting to overlay data, I would suggest pause the Elemnt and start as you begin ride so you can edit the video and the gpx data will match the start of the video file, if you get what I mean. If you have one long gpx file it will be near impossible to stitch different rides together without search through gpx files for data points

I see what you mean. I’m thinking I’d most likely get the remote control for the GoPro so I can turn it on and off as I go (no point in recording the boring bits that no one wants to see. Like me getting dropped like a sack of potatoes by Bob for example ^_^). So ideally I could record speed etc as I record footage. Do you know if I could I do that if I used my garmin 520 instead of the bolt?

I recomend the FitFileRepairTool If you even need to edit a Fit/GPX/TCX file to match a video track. I do it all the time for the routes I do for BKool.

You just need the gpx file from the ride. Stop the Garmin and start new rides when ever you want to record the next section of road. it's easier to trim a video file than sieve through loads of numbers in a gpx file.

Seems like a pain to have to start a new ride every time. I don’t know why but I thought garmin had a way of sort of aligning it for you.

It's not garmin software but is a very easy way to edit fit/gpx/tcx files. Once you get used to it.

I use it to seperate bkool workout sessions from othe bkool sesssions I record on the edge devices. You can't export bkool workout data

I've just found out you can chop or cut gpx easily on Strava, I've just done it on a video I'm preparing for you lot

It also highlighted the merging issue if you're not careful with the video trim, which I wasn't too concerned with on this clip.

deliberate gpx error by a few seconds for Tommy:tongue:

btw I rode down this section unbeknown I had a puncture!!!

This was my descent. I also rode up this climb on one of my trips over the volcano crater.
Weather is very consistent throughout the winter with around 20°C and sometimes a little more.

Several levels of riding, from beginner to hard core climber!
Stay on southside of island. Family friendly hotel, pools etc so wives children can come, ahem, Dean:blush:.

I don't need revenge Carl. My revenge was complete when you bought the kickr and transitioned to Zwift ( not that you have of course ) Anyway, tickets up for grabs for next years event. You in? We must all do it:hugs::thumbsup:
Ssssh, I don't really use Zwift

Would love to do this with the team next year but will need to plan well in advance.

The guy who won the sportive was over 20 minutes faster than the guy who won the actual race?

Seems odd... he’s in the 50-54 group so no more excuses from some of you old farts about your age! ^_^

I can see that I came in the top 300 of 1800 riders so that might mean I came in the top 25% of my age group. But I would imagine it’s close to be honest. Can anyone tell where they finished within their age group?
It’s all on how you parse it.

I think a year is long enough! I think you can buy a reduced ticket and pay extra to swap it with someone or return it.
We should all be aware they are reducing numbers next year.
I will have whooshy wheels by then for an extra 2km an hour too:okay:

I took the day off work to spend some time with my daughter. The fact I’m wrecked is obviously a complete coincidence...

That’s the hardest I’ve ever gone in the real world. 80 miles with no stops at that pace is quite a nice marker. I don’t regret pushing so hard but it’ll take a few days before my legs are talking to me again. My knee is quite sore today but my shoulder is fine, so hopefully the routine I’ve got is paying off.

If I’m being honest it was also nice finishing at the front. It doesn’t feel like a victory. And not because I like rubbing your faces in the dirt (well not much anyway.... :cuppa:). But because I’ve come along way the last few years fitness wise and it’s nice to be seeing tangible results.
With 2 stops totaling over 15 minutes still finished second. Those stops were very refreshing.
