Not trivial at all, but I'll post it anyway. About an hour ago I saw this happening. According to some watching, this nutter had a knife and didn't take kindly to the police's request to drop it! They got him on the floor, but he got back up and started lashing out, after the knife had been taken off him. I saw one officer put the weapon in a forensic evidence container in his car boot. I bet it was about 10 inches long!! Anyway, he'll be off to Greenbank 'custody suite' at Blackburn Police Station for a night in the cells, then a visit before the magistrate in the morn'!

Those little black flies (thunderflies?) that get on your glasses while cycling. Also having to continuously wipe bugs off your arm that get stuck in even the thinnest (and seemingly dry) layer of sunscreen - even P20.

I have a friend. We text each other about tittle tattle, gossip etc etc. She hasn't sent a message to me or replied to my messages for a few days now. I know why! It's because she's a tight git will not buy a decent phone! She has one of those crappy 10 quid a month top up ones, like many 'oldies' do. Whenever we're having a text 'conversation' she always says "Oh, my battery's dying", or "Sorry I didn't reply the other day, my phone's been playing up". She lives in a 4 bedroom house that ok is a bit run down, but she owns it and it'll be worth about £150,000 which is a fair amount around here. She's always crying poverty and when I've suggested that she should buy a smartphone she dismisses the idea saying she can't afford one. Why not I ask, as my phone is £17 a month on contract, including internet, landline etc. Instead of paying a tenner a month to keep that crappy ancient thing going she could have a decent phone for £7.50 a month more! I know quite a few 'oldies' who will just not buy a decent smartphone, saying they're too complicated and too expensive! Not only this, but she's also told me not to send links to newspaper articles etc, or any photos, as according to her such things 'knacker her phone up'. Just get a decent phone you tight old biddy and stop penny pinching ffs!! 🧐

Buying a new phone doesn't alter how someone might use it. Nor does spending more, for what you intend to use it for guarantee a better handset.

And she keeps asking me if I've fed the birds in the cemetery by putting seed on 'Bird Lady's' grave, saying they need feeding, even in the summer! Well why the feck doesn't she fecking feed them ffs!!:ninja:I'm not the only one that goes in there! Why don't others feed the fecking birds, instead of always expecting me to do it!:cursing:

And she buys a packet of cigarettes a day costing about 14 quid, she told me! They stink like hell when she lights one up! No matter where I stand I get a blast and cough my head off! 🧐 She could get a monthly, decent phone contract for the price of her daily stinky ciggies! 🧐

Every week I hear then see what's probably a teaching assistant barking orders at a group of primary school children. This has been going on since I moved here 6 years ago (obviously they aren't the same children year in year out, before anyone points it out:rolleyes:). Now that a yoga studio has opened up across from my flat the children are marched in there every Wednesday. The thing that annoys me is that this woman is actually quite intimidating in her manner. "Do not look up", "stop there do not cross the road without my permission", stop talking and start listening", "who said you could let go of her hand" are some of the things I've heard her say. Now I'm all for school discipline, but they are aged about 4 or 5 not teenagers. One child saw my little dog as I came out my flat the other week and smiled and waved at him, as young children do. All of a sudden I heard "do not wave at that dog, it could be dangerous, get hold of her hand"! Heck, this is boot camp/borstal stuff, not primary school stuff! Why all this barking orders? I suppose the road safety stuff is to more or less to scare them into being very wary of how dangerous roads can be, but she's talking to them like they're army cadets, not young school children! Is this the thing these days, barking orders at children 4 or 5 years old? I find it quite worrying.
