How about 'lollypop' men/women who stop the traffic to let adults cross the road! Yes, if they have a child/pupil with them, but not if they're on their own or even going to pick a child up from school. Today a lollypop bloke stepped out in front of me to let a bloke who looked like he was in his 20's/30's cross the road. I suppose he was going to pick a child up, but seeing as he didn't have a child with him at the time why couldn't he just wait till there was a break in the traffic, like we all have to do when out and about! I'm thinking about phoning Lancs County Council up and asking them if they could provide me with a lollypop person, whenever I need to cross the road safely! šŸ§
Schools are providing their own crossing patrols these days. With many doing what you describe as a way of teaching kids who may see that crossing point as the safe place, and way to cross the road.

Mrs Dr B has a habit of turning to the non-HD version of a channel thatā€™s available in HD. It ā€œdoesnā€™t matterā€.

Look at the ****ing screen! The people donā€™t have edges!!!!
Multiple people in my circle are the same; it drives me mad! It is bad enough that they put up with it, but banning me from switching to the HD version because they are not bothered and think that I am being stupid... :cursing:

The holiday house opposite where I live puts wheely bins out well before they are due to get emptied and never bother taking them back in when they are empty. They lie about getting in the way of our parking and it shows a complete disregard for those who actually live here.
This was a nice community before we had those people inflict themselves on us.

Do people come around to your house to watch SD channels?
They can't (where there are HD versions) because I have deleted them from the list of available channels on my Freesat box!

I assume that you are defending their right to do what they want in their own homes? Carry that to the logical conclusion and they could switch the TV off in the middle of a film that we were watching together because they considered if boring, even if I were enjoying it.

Watching SD when HD is available is like listening to music via a phone speaker rather a decent hifi system. Oh crap, they do that too!

Well yes, as you have the option to say ā€œYou know what, Iā€™m really tired, Iā€™m going to go to bedā€, then see them outside and say good night.

Absolutely you have dominion over your TV at home, if you live alone.
