What's going to be the difference between the current 5 and the new 5A. Looking at the specs of the current 5 it too seems really good value.

OK - picked up my Triban 5A this afternoon from Decathlon in Edinburgh. They'd put it aside for me when it arrived on Friday and they've apparently sold another seven 60cm bikes since!!!

I should point out that I've photographed the bike just as it was when I picked it up - I've not had the time to go out on it or set it up to my liking yet. I suspect that the bars will need to be rotated up slightly and the saddle may come up an inch or so yet, but just need to find a break in work/the weather to fine tune it and go for a blast.

It looks stunning in the flesh and appears to have been well set up, drivetrain-wise, by the boys at Decathlon. Only thing I'm not overly keen on is the gloss black chainset - I'd have preferred a silver one, but hey-ho. At least it's a Hollow-tech II chainset/bottom bracket combo, so should be rock solid with no annoying chainring rub under load.

Very nice. How do you get on with them mud guards? I ended up returning mine as I had nothing but problems with them.

I use Crud RR mudguards too. The only thing I had problems with was the nose/front tip rubbing on the tyre. I just removed it, and stuck a bit of black duct tape over the hole. AFAICS one doesn't need the nose for anything...

It stops them damaging when they are sprung open with no cable attached.

This means it looks like I'll be making a trip to Giltbrook on Friday, they seem to have some of the red T3s in my preferred size.
Time to join the Tribe before price rises and discontinuations get in the way.
