Why do the media keep saying that the Coronation is a once in a lifetime event? If Charles dies at the same age as his mother then we will have another one in 20 years time.

This is the second one in my lifetime. Like buses, wait long enough and I've will turn up.
Might not be the one you want. But a bus is a bis

Oh dear me, the theology of the fall.
How long have you got left?

I am only interested in the nudity.

It reminds me of Alf Garnett standing to attention whenever the National Anthem was played on TV.

That reminds me of when we went to stay with distant, elderly relatives years and years ago, as kids.
We were watching a late night film and at the end, it was the close of the channel (BBC), so they played the national anthem.

They (our elderly relatives) were aghast that we didn't stand up for it, like they were and likewise we were bemused and a bit confused that they would even think to do so! 😆

Two different worlds colliding head on there!

That was always a problem for me when I was listening to Radio 4. I would just be dropping off after listening to the Shipping Forecast and Sailing By when the National Anthem came on and I would have to get up.
"Sailing By" was and still is played before the Shipping Forecast.

Before I owned a boat it was my dream to fall asleep to that music on my little boat anchored somewhere.
When it became a reality it soon became clear that it set the scene for days to come.

How far away is the good, better, worse weather?
Shall we stay here, continue with the next tide, look at the charts and cut and run for it?
How much do I trust the Met Office?
Then start checking weather sites until you get the one you want. This supports your earlier plan.
By now I'm wide awake. Decide to make some cocoa and check the NAVTEX early.

TV/Film Dialogues. When someone broaches some new life "thing" to a loved one, like:
- How about we buy a boat? or
- I've been offered this brilliant job in Farawaylandia, but I need to know your thoughts? or
- Grandad wants to pay for little jemima to go St Cuthberts school next year. Whadya think???

The other party always has a total breakdown:
"WHY didn't you tell me about this?!?"
"Well, err .. it's quite a big deal, I wanted a quiet moment ... "
"So you just wanted to SPRING this on me, with NO WARNING!!!!"
or
"I only found out last night"
"So when were you going to tell me?!?"
...etc ... etc ...

Do real people behave like this?

my existence as an individual person, as a free & responsible agent, determining my own development, through acts of my own will

just not sure I believe it
You don't believe you're you, or you think you're living inside a computer simulation?
