Why do people in disaster movies never use an emergency toothbrush?
They all seem to have really good teeth.🤔

The Three Musketeers: how is it they never use their muskets? They sword fight all the time.

Muskets weren't much use away from the battlefield.

It took close to a minute to reload, a minimum of 30 seconds if you were very good and in eth rhythm of loading and firing - I use one regularly with the Sealed Knot, and can just about load in 30 seconds, but that is without the actual ball (obviously we only fire blanks).

And then if it is a matchlock, you would not normally be carrying around lit match, so you have to get that lit before you can fire.

A musket is also quite heavy, and doesn't normally have any means of carrying other than in the hand, so you wouldn't usually even have it with you around town.

Whereas of course the sword only takes a second or two to draw.

The musket is not a very accurate weapon. You just point it in the general direction and hope it hits someone. It seems strange that the kings best and most skilful soldiers would be dedicated to use this weapon on the battlefield.

Adam and Eve - why were they bothered about being naked? They must have been used to seeing each other naked. God made their bodies himself, and there was no-one else around.

A sign of shame? we alone out of all the animals feel exposed if naked and it's a breach of the peace as one naked rambler found out many a time .

Indeed. The musket only replaced the longbow because it was cheaper and required virtually no training or exercise to use.

In range, accuracy and speed of fire, it was an inferior weapon. But on the battlefield, it was still better than swords because it had range. And because infantry then fought in large blocks, it didn't have to be particularly accurate.

And the '80s' cartoon theme - It even has a description at 1.45 onwards.

Also there is the line

'They drink their beer and say they're fathful to their King!'

Surely a line you'd never get away with now?'

We may not have learned very much, but some of our cartoons as kids did try to teach a little bit of history:
