I think the cycling industry is in danger of pricing itself out of the market. Some of the prices are getting a bit silly now.
That's true. The bulk of bikes my LBS sells are £4 - 500 and certainly below £1000. Then there are the high end users, of which I'm one. I'm always interested that the bikes on workstands either being built up or serviced are high end stuff.If the "proper bike shops" keep pushing the prices of "proper bikes" up and up
then you average punter looking to start riding a bike around is only left with Halfords
who hence grow even bigger

Does that mean folk like me are more likely to get their bikes serviced or that we don't have the skills? Both in my case!!!
