Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
And if you were trying to sell it, you'd be lucky to get half of what you paid for it.

True. Just like everything else today

Seems like a decent day weather wise

which means I have run out of excuse to clear everything out of the shed and give it a good clean and sort out

everything is covered in cement dust and grit and general muck after the landscaping stuff done so a lot of it will need a going over with the power washed

I expected that a loads of bits and pieces would be broken or "missing" after being spread over the lawns and moved around for several weeks

but so far the only thing missing is the nozzle for the hosepipe

If the "proper bike shops" keep pushing the prices of "proper bikes" up and up
then you average punter looking to start riding a bike around is only left with Halfords

who hence grow even bigger
That's true. The bulk of bikes my LBS sells are £4 - 500 and certainly below £1000. Then there are the high end users, of which I'm one. I'm always interested that the bikes on workstands either being built up or serviced are high end stuff.

Does that mean folk like me are more likely to get their bikes serviced or that we don't have the skills? Both in my case!!!

have heard of some people being turned away from LBSs because they had a cheap bike

The one near me takes the opposite attitude and will fix anything

most of what they sell are ebikes and high end
but most of what they fix are normal low end bikes that are used a lot

Mrs Tkk tripped and fell on her way to parkrun this morning. A raised water meter cover on the pavement being responsible. Once she'd picked herself up the tried to force down the lid but it was jammed. Water company alerted and two hour response promised. Grazed knee and elbow and a cut to the hand. Will contact them on Monday as Mrs Tkk was wearing her favourite " Sweaty Betty " bottoms.,

Crazy busy today, up early for an 8.00am appointment the other side of Oxford to have a pair of tyres fitted to the rear of our little Skoda Citigo, the originals had cracked through age. Then down to Harrow to meet a client, on to Brent Cross, home via John Lewis in High Wycombe where we collected some new curtains for our living room, and now home, feet up with a beer watching the telly.
