Fell asleep in one of them years ago, despite the noise.
The snoring gave it away.

I’m a bit claustrophobic so kept my eyes shut the entire time. Not sure if I could have another with the metal plate in my collar bone. I’ve heard conflicting advice. Internet says you can, yet a staff nurse I know locally says they won’t??

I've been told "No", by someone who retired in 2019 from doing that job. Given that most seem to be head and spinal.
If the metal was away from the area being scanned then they could do them, but extra precautions would have to be taken.

In other news - I was back at the hospital yesterday for some tests

MRI was freaky - lots fo noises and stuff - sounded like being in the middle of some sort of Star Wars combat game

and no idea of how long it had to go or how much time had passed!!

anyway - came back just fine
apparently my brain look perfectly normal

(although there does seem to be an opinion that this shows their machine needs adjusting!!)

so no lasting damage - apparently!!!!

they wanted to do another test but they had no slots available so I have to go back today
which is a pain as they also said it was a "mini stroke" so I'm not allowed to drive - legally - for 1 month

(they have not mentioned cycling - and I didn;t ask
SWMBO seems to think I should stay off roads on my bike for a week or so
her sister thinks I am mad even considering cycling on roads!!!)

anyway - so - I have to go back this morning
no-one is available to give us a lift so it'll have to be a taxi - about 15 quid each way!!!

but at least I'm not going mad or anything!

My sympathies.
I had to accept it when Long Covid made it to dangerous to cycle.
Taxi to the hospital was/is £8 each way. I don't really begrudge the money but trying to phone for the return taxi was a nightmare a)you have no idea how long you will be in there so can't prebook it and b) the big taxi companies are fully booked with special needs school children at peak times.

May I ask how did you manage to fall off the bike and are you ok?

I'm fine thank you Paulus. Good of you to ask. No damage to the bike other than scratches on the rear guard which I can paint out and a small scratch on the rear mech.

A bit embarrassing really, though not entirely my fault. We were riding up a short gentle incline, one that needs to drop a gear and make a little extra effort. The car in front stopped unexpectedly opposite a side road. There was a car approaching, cars behind and a van waiting to pull out. The van wasn't indicating, no one knew whether to go or not.

The van pulled out towards us and with the road now clear we set off. My gear was too high, I pushed hard and toppled to my right. It was slo-mo. I knew I dare not hit my injured knee so I twisted, landed on my back, feet in the air supporting the bike. 🤣

Later in the cafe were, in true pensioner style, highly amused.

I think the driver who stopped like that bore some responsibility for this event.

I've just posted....looks like I'll be going on another holiday

I think Ernie would have knocked your door if you had the big one.

Apparently I have £25 this month

Better than nothing

Oh - and apparently my arteries/veins in my neck are fine as well

just have to wait for some more things later on - but apparently that can wait until I can drive again so basically next month

so I'm back to normal - for a specific definition of normal

Hope all is well now.
I had a slow motion fall once. I realised I had overshot my right hand turn so just braked, forgetting I was clipped in.
I fell to the left ie on the pavement.
Unfortunately there were 2 school girls there, I was really embarresed .
