I'm fine thank you Paulus. Good of you to ask. No damage to the bike other than scratches on the rear guard which I can paint out and a small scratch on the rear mech.
A bit embarrassing really, though not entirely my fault. We were riding up a short gentle incline, one that needs to drop a gear and make a little extra effort. The car in front stopped unexpectedly opposite a side road. There was a car approaching, cars behind and a van waiting to pull out. The van wasn't indicating, no one knew whether to go or not.
The van pulled out towards us and with the road now clear we set off. My gear was too high, I pushed hard and toppled to my right. It was slo-mo. I knew I dare not hit my injured knee so I twisted, landed on my back, feet in the air supporting the bike. 🤣
Later in the cafe were, in true pensioner style, highly amused.
I think the driver who stopped like that bore some responsibility for this event.
