Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I like Aldi self serve checkouts. They work well and have a decent area to put your items once you have scanned them. And they have a member of staff lurking in case you need help IE you need alcohol to be authorised.

yes - I have used that #they seem to have thought about it in a sensible way and realised that having a bar code twice the size of normal ones makes the scanning process work better and fail much less

I have also found that I can find the bar code much easier than on some normal things - partly because it is bigger but also the white is brighter and the black darker and it is in a more obvious position

The very best system is the Sainsbury hand-held scanner. Scan as you go, saves a lot of time. You are even allowed to put items straight into your carrier bag etc once you have scanned whilst moving around the store - brilliant! Very handy for smaller shopping trips.

One of the reasons I like them, you can pack as you go, at end, pay and off you go, much quicker IMHO, and, no queue, no “interesting” chat with bored checkout operator.

Unfortunately next door have taken down their awning type thingy in their back garden

It had started to look a bit bent after the last storm

I was looking forward to seeing it collapse today!!!

All our weekly shop has been since Covid has been done on line .Its a20 mile round trip to any of the major supermarkets As we have got older we find it becoming harder to load the car then unload the car and lug the bags to the house.
We use Tesco deliveries and occasionally Acado .With Acado there deliveries come already bagged Give the bag’s back on next delivery 10p is refunded

If I need a packet of screws Hinckley is my nearest DIY store what that works out in the cost of screws wall plugs etc when the cost of travel is added I can order such things from Amazon and get free next day delivery We use Amazon frequently….
We have Prime which we share with step daughter Since we have have acquired a dog we have used Amazon frequently.
Since my daughter opened up a pet shop two miles up the road we now buy there. Have to keep it in the family.
