Mrs Tkk has gone to marshal at Upton House parkrun. It's the Christmas fancy dress run, " Bring Cake " was the message that went out so there's going to be a large turnout with plenty of goodies😎
Meanwhile I have disassembled the bike from the Turbo and stored it in the shed over Christmas. I suggested draping it in Tinsel and leaving it in the extension but was overruled.
Off to the Barking Cat at lunchtime, a friend is coming up from Weymouth, must not drink too much 🍺

Wonder how it got its name? Molly sometimes growls if she hears someone coming to the door, but she hasn’t barked so far.

Coooeee. 9 deg here and the rain has been torrential all night and battering against the windows. It doesn't look like it will quieten down any time soon.

Shortest day of the year as well isn't it?

Stay safe peeps :hello:

Yes, and officially the proper day of winter too.
Strong winds and rain here and tomorrow, we are heading down to Bideford in North Devon to spend Christmas with one of our daughters. 300 miles in similar weather forecasted. Not looking forward to the drive.

Oh. While I remember for those fortunate to live in the northwest, that includes Lancashire. Booths, famed throughout the land, well our bit of land, are selling fabulous mince pies. Bog standard, own brand, packs of 4, £2 per pack or £3 for 2 packs. I have to restock later today, the Christmas ones have disappeared......

I blame the elves. Fantastic quality and value.
You can blame whatever you want, but at what other time of the year do you buy/eat them?

Blue sky and very windy.

We are trying to work up enthusiasm to get our food etc for Xmas. To hell with tradition this year we are simply doing a selection of hot and cold picky bits for our Christmas dinner.

Slipped on a very greasy step yesterday and have buggered my shoulder up - not happy about that at all.

Have a good day all.

Right - hello you lot

getting windy here

wondering when to go for the Christmas shopping
probably today or Monday

dunno

also a long list of general other stuff - but shouldn;t be too bad as it is just the 2 of us here
Christmas DInner with the Grnd Kids was stopped a few years ago due to political problem with the daughter-in-law's mother

Mind you - Christmas Dinner with Bisto as gravy was always a problem

better off if we cook our own
(although by "we cook" I mean I cook everything and SMWBO does the gravy - I hate people working while I sit wround but I can;t cope with other people in the kitchen while I am
I take after my Mum - every Christmas I can see my Dad muttering - "just like his Mum"!

anyway - first job is to check the list is complete

Oh and I also need to remember to pick up the turkey and other stuff from the butcher on Monday!!!

Right despite being a bit down this morning,i have decided i am going to try and ride next year.:hyper::cycle::bicycle:.I am on a fabulous FB page Lymphoma Action Support UK and those people are on the same journey as me some ,are getting back in to running.Which i think is harder than cycling. So out will come the turbo first and see how the balance is on the back lawn.
