If you'd been in Chorley today you'd know the world is ending sometime in the next 24 hours. The guy at the till next to me spent £191..........in Aldi!!!!!! 😮😮😮 That's probably their biggest sale of 2024.

We used to easily exceed £130 in Lidl on a normal week, Christmas would have blown £200+ easily. Pam was very good at disposing of money.

Can I ask how many that was for, in a normal week? Our, sorry MY, weekly shop across Aldi and Tesco or Sainsbury is around £75, in a big week. Mrs P was/is brilliant at spending especially at Christmas if we had guests for lunch.

I find doing the weekly shop is much cheaper if I go...................solo.

Our usual weekly shop averages £105 for the two of us split across Aldi & Sainsbury.

Xmas week about £200.

Our normal weekly shop is around £70.
Monday's Sainsbury's delivery slot is up to £120.
There will be no waste. Every thing will be eaten over the Christmas period in one form or another.
We rarely have waste. If we do it's because neither of us have spotted something, usually veg, starting to go over. We don't bother with sell by or use by dates,**if it smells OK cook it.

** I did bin some dried pasta sheets with BBD of 08/2023 this afternoon. Mainly because I was annoyed Mrs P keeps buying pasta sheets when we have some in the cupboard! 🤣

I hope the new lady in your life is more careful with your income.

Two, and was always prepared for visitors, the amount of waste was huge and always disturbed me, luckily my income has always exceeded spending. My weekly shop now is around £30
