The wind eased and it brightened up so managed the riverside trail. I don’t feel right if I don’t get out for at least an hour before brekkie.

Shredded wheat and yoghurt for breakfast. My healthy eating is still going well.

I’m going to watch a programme on BBC2 tonight with Dr Chris Van Tulleken about ultra processed food. I have his book still to read.

This month is my double payment month as the pension is paid every four weeks. I treat it as a bonus payment and sometimes treat myself 😁

Same here ;)

I have the threat of a visit to IKEA in Southampton hanging over me 😮 This is tempered by the prospect of a session at the " Dancing Man " pub to de stress afterwards 🍺
The trouble with IKEA is there's lots of useful little widgety things that you think " wow! that's a bargain and end up in your basket 😁

We always end up with about £60 worth of stuff we don’t need. although I hate shopping I quite enjoy a trip to IKEA.

Good morning campers.
We have blue sky here, so the washing machine is doing it's stuff.
Dog walk soon across/around the sodden fields.
The first of the two bin lorries have been down our road.
I put R2 on and it was wall to wall Christmas songs, so i I turned it off.😡
Hopefully I'll get out on the bike for a while later on for a while.
Enjoy your day everyone.

I thought it was in the rulez that BBC didn't fire up the Christmas tape until December the 1st!

I tell myself I'm playing a game of Dungeons and Dragons on my Sinclair Spectrum 48k. " You have entered a room, there is no obvious exit, you see a mound of treasures..."

I liked my Spectrum. I have memories of buying computer magazines with games programmes in them that you had to type in to the computer. Just one little mistake and it wouldn’t work. I think I eventually upgraded to a Commodore after that. I can’t believe how great we thought they were when you see what’s available now.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I've only been in IKEA once in my entire life. I wasn't a fan. People were going ma to buy stuff. That was when it first opened. Never again thank you.

Bonjour. Nice and sunny here so far. We are meeting Mrs G's recently widowed sister at 10 am as she is taking her car to the dealer for a recall so we will spend some time together before she drives back to Caernarfon.

I liked Caernarfon when I used to holiday down there many years ago. Is it still nice, or has it got a bit run down like most towns these days?

Barnet,
Good morning all, showers and gusty winds here.

Watched the first two episodes of the new Wolf Hall over the weekend, now doing lots of googling to remind myself who everyone was. For me that’s the trouble with history, I find it fascinating but can never remember anything of it. Anyway, captivating viewing.

I've just started watching Wolf Hall series1, and I'm hooked. I know it's a dramatisation, but I know the history and the characters involved.
Also, we've just started watching The Diplomat, that's also very good. We are 3 episodes in of series 1 now.
Catch up TV can be very good, so can Netflix if you are a bit choosy about what you watch.

We had Vic20? Back in the day. The kids loved it.

I had a c64 then upgraded to am Amiga

Actually used the Amiga for IT support for the company I worked for (I worked in Tech support FOR the IT department!)
wrote a few programs on it

loved them - far better - in their day - than the Microshaft offerings - but cr*p marketing

so I ended up on Dos and WIndows - like the front ends I worked on at work

Anyway - I'm up and sort of awake - had to nip out to Tesco for some milk before breakfast which was a shock to the system!
