A number of years ago now, I was working in Gibraltar, with a fellow Software Engineer from Pune (India). My wife, and, daughters No 2 and 3 were visiting me, and, my Indian colleague invited us to his accommodation for a meal. His wife produced a selection of Indian food, including some delicious Chicken Tikka. D2 and D3 (then aged 12 and 14) demolished most of it, so, she promptly produced more, which they made major inroads to. My wife, felling slightly embarrassed and trying to cover for the apparent gluttony of D2 and D3, asked if she could have the recipe, so that she could make them some at home. My colleagues wife promptly produced a jar of Pataks sauce. So, it would appear, even "real" Indians use it.

This was quite a while ago, D2 and D3 are now 50 and 52 respectively ;)

Our local supermarket " Makkha " is an Aladins cave of exotica with a lot of stuff ( and labels ) that you won't find in the usual big supermarkets. There's also a section with Pataks products, so many varieties and variations that I hadn't seen elsewhere and didn't know they made. I picked up a small margarine sized tub of vegetable curry base paste, ( not Pataks ) it is Indian in origin but imported through Holland according to the label. When I gave it a go it was astonishingly good, I thought " eff me, I've cracked it " 😁

I gave Fulgaz a try. Have to admit I quite enjoyed it. Just a short route from Edinburgh to Prestonpans.

Just checked the major events of the day

Liverpool beat Spurs 6 3
ManU got stuffed 3-0 at home

and Everton draw 0-0 - which is good for them at the moment - they need the points and I don;t want them to be relegated!!!

so - sounds like a good day!!!

Oh and got some Christmas shopping done

Except Everton were truly awful. Apart from a handful of forays towards our end they were a nightmare.

Wasting time from the off, some awful fouls and play acting plus typical Dyche 'one point will do' low-block mentality - he was the same at Burnley. Him and Pulis would make a fine pair.

I have 2 mates who are Everton fans and they are heartily sick of Dyche's grind out a point style and would be glad to see the back of him.

If they can stay up this season then the new owner cash injection may well change the situation around. Fingers crossed.

If I see my wife's nephew I will ask him his view
he is far from the brightest spark in any bonfire - but he does follow football and supports Everton

I sort of follow their results from a distance and would like them to be higher up
lower than Liverpool obviously - but all this bouncing around the relegation zone is worrying!
