I have used the Waves one in Tesco car park

they seem to do a good job and worth it if the inside is a mess (I blame the grand kids!)

but only once or twice a year - and normally when it is cold out

I worry about using the car wash places elsewhere as I see a lot of things in the press about Police raids and finding all sorts of dodgy practices - such as modern slavery and stuff.
I presume - possible naively - that Tesco would not allow them to use their spaces if they were not sure they were clean (sorry!!)

but most of the time I just do it myself with a bucket, sponge and hosepipe

Sponge or noodle cloth?
Sponges tent to scrape any muck across the bodywork.
I occasionally do a “mini-valet” for ours: snowfoam to loosen much, jetwash, then bucket and noodle glove (Kent wash noodle or similar) to wash. Always be sure to do the door shuts for that pro finish.
Towel off with microfleece, then usually some Bouncers Done & Dusted, a QD (quick detailer) to give a fast shine to it.
Then onto the inside, for a full hoover and some Poorboys natural look interior dressing.
Sorry, did you nod off there? 🤣

I think I’m a frustrated detailer….although I would quickly get bored doing other peoples cars 😳

Right - busy day

had a medical appointment this morning - Aortic Aneurysm scan
apparently you get offered it is you are over 60 and male
but only once - if you don;t have one - or have already dropped dead (or deadish) from it by now then you are safe

anyway - she said I was normal - SWMBO challenged this but I think she was just referring to the blood supply system!

after that there was some mention of painting the gloss stuff in the kitchen so I did that

not gone further as I want to see if this paint works OK - so we will see tomorrow!

some shopping to do now - out of gluten free biscuits - and the cupboard is full of ones I can;t eat but we need in for SWMBO and the grand kids

I also need something to go with custard

Well what a lot of interesting bits and pieces in here today. Car valeting? Once upon a time I would do this and was very picky attending to everything. I could easily spend 3-4 hours on it. Then I discovered the Polish guys at our local Tesco. For £20 they do a full valet, hand wash, and the end result is superb. It's done while one shops. I suppose £20 is a bob or two but it saves me almost half a day, for me time is more important than money at this stage of life. The only thing they don't do is use one of those scratch removing/disguising products. I spend 30 minutes doing that myself when I get home.

@ebikeerwidnes I had that scan at age 65. At the time it was about 3 months after my brain aneurysm. When the letter arrived my initial reaction was "is someone taking the p***? I've had one of those"

Anyway. A very good ride today. My new jacket and winter base layer worked well though it's apparent the base layer doesn't wick as well as the autumn one. I had a nasty moment with a psv minibus. One which is used to ferry wheelchair users around. He started to overtake, suddenly realised he'd f***** up and swerved out wide before swerving back in. I'm going to look at getting one of those Garmin Varia thingies, perhaps one with the camera option.
