Expensive day today, bought myself a brand new Brompton for my 60th in Jan. Popped up on eBay, and it’s only down the road in Headington, three years old but has never been unpacked and about a third off, so really pleased. Just have to contain my excitement for a couple of months!

Already starting to put together a shopping list for it. Not too much but just the stuff that makes it mine.

Good evening all.
Took the old Falcon out for a bit of a spin earlier. I'm starting to realise that the gearing on it might be a bit too high for my legs now. The steep hills around Barnet are becoming a bit of a challenge. I might have change the chainset for something a little smaller.

I used the railway under public ownership a lot when I was in the army and it was grim.

Been using it a lot again in recent years and it's descending to a level of crapness comparable to the old days.

As neither model seems to work I suggest we put Elon Musk in charge. What could possibly go wrong?

The trolley service was sold out to private individuals on what is now LNER. First just stopped them by charging them more than they'd make.

A bit and bobbing day today, swapped a windscreen repair on a Bentley for a new tyre and a fixed a dent on a Volvo for an MOT, gym and swim this evening followed by Flammkuchen for dinner.

One of our pickleballers stayed away saying they had Covid - I didn’t know people still tested for it 👀
Bit of a hack here, but had to drag myself out to a Squeeze gig this evening: superb band!

I tested myself for it about 7 weeks ago, I tested daily and was positive for 8 days, I would not venture out knowing that I had it as I would not want to pass it on. Covid contributed to me wife passing away in March this year, before that she was a very fit and extremely young 66 year old. I am the odd person that will not even go out with a cold as I do not want to give it to someone else.
