I hope I never have to stop earning a few bob, I do not call it work as I enjoy myself every day.

That’s terrific for you that you still get joy out of it .

But we are all different. I for one am at the other end of the work love spectrum.
I never enjoyed a single day I ever had working , that’s not to say a lot weren’t ok they were , but most of my work days were just things i got though to earn the the money to do things I liked, nothing more . I have never been happier since I stopped working and having to spend time with people I didn’t like.
I suspect most people fit between our two extremes. 😂😀

Night night everyone .

Ditto. Work was a necessary evil. Doesn’t help that I was probably not in jobs suited to my personality.

Morning. Another cold start but dry again. The weather has been pretty decent up here. Sounds like we’ve had it better than down south for a change.

My back has been bothering me for a few days but it feels better walking than sitting so I’ll get out soon.

Morning all.
Was in bed late (for me) as I watched some recorded progs. However I woke at 6 and will do an Aldi dash at 8.
On the work/love/hate issue I think I was fortunate as I generally enjoyed my various jobs. When I found myself in a job I detested I left and got another job...... Made easier as I didn't have a trade so any general work suited.
I was mid 40s before I found my niche but before that I, literally, must have had 20 jobs.

Good morning all. It's a nice bright but chilly start to the day here.
Today we are off to Newmarket races with a couple of friends. I'm not normally a gambler, but it a good day out, and I stick to £5 a race so today will cost me £35 for the 7 races. I can normally get a winner or two, or a couple of places so I can often end up not losing much or breaking even. There have been times though I've come away with a profit. It's a good day out though.

On the work front, I for the most part throughly enjoyed my job on the railway, although after 44 years the enjoyment wained for a few reasons and I knew it was time to go.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Cooooeeee. By gum chaps it's a tad chilly here at 4 deg. I've got a fire going.

I quite liked worked , but towards the end after we moved to Wales it was a case of dong it because I didn't have a choice and in the end I couldn't stop fast enough. Best thing I ever did.

Stay safe peeps :hello:

Morning all, work wise I have been in business for 49 years nearly, I do the stuff I like for people that I really like. Over the years I have tweaked and adjusted the business to suit me. The last time I did not enjoy working was for a period between 86 and 88 when I had two car sites, it was the stress of employing people that got to me. Once I got rid of that problem life got easier and nicer.

I employed 8 people for 12 years when I ran my own business, I agree once you get rid of that stress and run solo life is so much easier, we’ve just got the remnants of our old business which my wife and I run ourselves, about 15 hours a week, we make more money now than when we had a proper full time business employing all those people!

I see the Welsh government are going give the go ahead to release beavers Into Welsh rivers. They will give them protected status first though.

There are already wild beavers in Wales. Some eco warriors released them onto the dyfi River near Machynlleth. Can't see them lasting long elsewhere especially as the rivers have been so polluted with waste, and farmers will be more than a bit annoyed if they start causing flooding.

It might be good, then again it could be bad. We shall see.

My back has stopped aching since a couple of weeks after I started doing yoga daily; it helps me a lot. I have two herniated discs in there so I have to look after it.
