Little bit of shopping done. I had a total brain fart and managed to use the self service checkout, load my bags and walk out without paying. I was just outside the door and stuck my hand in my pocket to make sure my debit card was there, then it dawned on me I hadn’t used it! Ran straight back in and the till was still empty and my due amount still showing so managed to pay. I’m surprised some sort of alarm didn’t come up. Maybe it would have after a bit more time.

Good afternoon all, just catching up after a week away, a self catering cottage near Dumfries. Great views, great cycling, hopeless wi-fi, mixed weather. To be fair the weather wasn’t too bad given the standards of this summer.

one of my drinking pals was commenting on that, last week. Perhaps it starts off as (say) four ply, then, becomes three ply, then two, then one?

I'm trying to remember which comedian did the piece about it, something along the lines of, do they go looking around the sewer and say, there's a nice long piece, not too much sh!t on it.

Coffee break, 17 socks ironed, just having 5 minutes before the fitted sheet and tea towels get the same.

WHAT - who irons socks??????

I do like ironing handkerchief - but never use them anymore

and tea towels are good too
and pillow cases

basically anything that is small enough to fit easily on the ironing board and can quickly got from something creased to something pristine and smooth

I had a textfrom my son saying he will come and see me between 4 and 5. I said make it 5 pm as I intend to go for a long ride of about 3 hours . He replied saying : "You do know it is going to rain this afternoon. " No I said, my weather app says sunny all afternoon so see you later. Off I went then. 5 kms into my ride, guess what ? It started to rain so I turned round and headed back home.
How can two weather apps give different forecasts? I think I will download his app when he comes round later.
I am 29 kms short to achieve my target for this month so I hope we will have some dry weather before the 31st.

Now I am not the sharpest tool in the box but something doesn't add up there.

It's obvious when you think about it Dave, 16 for the sock drawer and one to tuck down the front of his Speedos 😀

Ironing? Sheets, yes. Tea towels, yes. Cycling kit - laid flat on warm Ironing board and smoothed with hand before hanging up.

I do like to iron my buffs!!!! 🤣
