Good morning folks,
Started dry now it's raining. Need a week or more of dry weather before I tackle painting the garden sheds. The branch of Wilko in Poole will be reopening soon which will be handy for the various household stuff and other bits and bobs they stock.
Might jump on the Brommie later.

Morning all :hello:

Off to Bridgwater this morning for some shopping.
We're taking the caravan down to Cornwall next week and I've got some work to do on it before we leave.
It needs a good check over and clean, external and internal.
Main job is to get the toilet flush working - should be an easy fix.
We shall be going to a site that we've been on before, about 5 miles from Lands End, for 5 nights and then coming back up to a site near Bodmin for 5 nights before trekking home.

Hello to all.
Very dark again this morning. I rose at 0600 and am slowly coming round.
Thursday (I think) so blue and green bins, how exciting can life get.
Should be going to the pub at lunchtime, assuming my neighbour/friend is up for it.

Ours normally matches your - but this week it is tomorrow due to the Bank Holiday

I think - better check again but there has been no sign yet and the garden waste lorry is normally around by now!

Saw - or at least started watching before I gave up and went to bed at 11:30 - a programme on the telly last night
The one where a bunch of celebrities meet up and walk along a pilgrimage route

this one was in North Wales - as I used to live there I was interested as I have never heard of the North Wales Pilgrims way - but apparently it exists, although I am not sure if it isa modern thing or something older
Starts near Flint Castle - not actually near Flint - nearer Greenway famously the site of the Speed Camera that used to catch more cars than any other in the UK at one time!
anyway - it winds its way aorund via a load of old churches - mostly inland at the start rather than the wel trodden coast route - and takes a diversion off to Bangot - where I lived for a while - and then South before going West to the coast and then down the North coast of the Llyn and then to Bardsey Island

Must catch up with it later as I was too tired after having the grand-kids all day

Anyway - looks wet out but if it dries up I would like to go out for a ride to loosen up my head - lots of things happening lately and I need something to de-stress!

Was that the sailing club at West Kirby.
Back in the 80s I worked with a guy called (I think) Peter that sailed there.

Firstly I was in Hoylake - you know - the Sailing club that is only anywhere near the water at some Spring tides! (we actually sailed from Meols)
This bloke was from there - part of my Dad's group of "older people"
When I joined someone commented that it was nice to have some younger people joining - I was 30 ish at the time!!!

Anyway - after several years - and after the boat I was siling in had an unfortunate event with Hilbre island during a "not a race back to Hoylake" I left and joined West Kirby
Must have met lots of people - so probably included a Peter but it was ages ago so I can;t remember

Havn't sailed since I left in about 1998 when my daughter was born (long story!) except on holiday in warm water! I can remember how to do it but I'm not sure my knees will still go in the same directions - dinghy sailing is not the same as the old "sitting on a yacht sipping from a crystal glass as the water slips by" concept
The way I did it was rather more active and wet!
