Thats a good size inner ring, we used run 52/42 when I was a lad and that was big enough.

I still cling to a bit of hope that I am still young.

It was a few years ago and my daughter was taking a driving lesson. She told me afterwards.

As they were climbing out of the village, up a twisty road, a cyclist came snaking down the hill at near 40 mph.

The instructor asked my daughter - did you see that cyclist?

My daughter replied - yes, that was my Dad!


Edit: maybe 40mph is stretching it a bit, but it w as certainly close to 30mph.

It sounds like they're barely out of school, I vaguely remember being that young, its a long way in the distant past.
