My mate, who is 60, would rather play golf than have sex.

I have another friend who is 70, he's given up sex as he says it's over-rated. His 12 years younger wife is not happy.

The day I lose interest will hopefully be my last on Earth.

My Good Lady stopped this sex malarky about three years ago, I was rather disappointed, I'm 71 and my Good Lady is a touch older.

Been there got the tee-shirt.

I reccomend retiring.
Best thing about it?
No work stress = more relaxed = more and better sex.

I agree.

We've always enjoyed a lot of 'adult fun' through the years we have been together - it's one of the cornerstones of our relationship tbh.

Lots more time for such things now we are properly retired.

I know the feeling, but it's for life and it really gets me down....
Stuff about menopause really gets to me as there are much worse things....

I gave a sad smiley for the first para' but couldn't get the connection between P1 & P2 sorry.

NB: not looking for a too personal reply - just explaining my response.

Just that the media make a fuzz over the menopause yet others suffer far worse conditions that affect their lady parts.

The bloke in our local chippy thought I was in my late my 40's not 59... :okay:. But I was watching telly last night and the characters in the story had to put a VHS cassette into a top loader VCR to watch a message someone left for them....I remember top loaders. The same scene today would be swiping an iphone^_^. Plus, I like the old 60's stuff like The Champions, The Avengers etc... the characters use payphones & often 'reverse the charges'...aaah...those days, eh??.

The lady in the butchers the other week made my day, she thought I was in my 50's not 71, cheered me up no end.

Ah... okay, thanks for the reply. Sounds like a sad situation at your end. 😒 Sorry to hear that, albeit obliquely.

As a complete aside we could probably do with a menopause thread in Personal Matters - the ladies have a tough time as the process unravels and, from my own experience, us guys need to have a bit of education too. Not so much about the physical processes involved but the psychological and emotional impact on the women experiencing it.

Amen to that. My partner is going through the peri-stage and it's been awful. I have laods of details to share if such a thread was needed. The psychological side can be tough too. Depression, anxiety, mood swings etc

After my little medical incident recently I asked my colleagues at work how old they thought I was. Most of them guessed early to mid 40's, which isn't bad for someone who is well in the second year of their 50's.

Had to explain to Mrs Z what a TERF was. She said she can't keep up, things keep changing. I reckon that's definitely an admission of getting old.
