The realisation you're getting old

We went out for a meal last night, and everything about the place made me feel old! The "server" referred to us all as "my lovelies", and was also wearing a big dangly earring. The other servers were all young and heavily tattoed, wearing very short shorts/skirts and very tight t-shirts. I had no problem with it, but how times have changed. We would have been told to wear smarter clothes, longer clothes

Some pubs and "informal" dining establishments pretty well require that type of clothing for their front of house staff - usually black, or with the establishment logo.

I wasn't going to genderise the debate as I think that is frowned upon, but the dangly ear-ring wearer who apprently loved us all, appeared to be male

Another sign of old age is realising that the wrapping and the contents may not match an old fashioned view of the world.
