A young chap passed me today and said "I like your suit sir, you are very well dressed"! I didn't correct him about me not wearing a suit. I had a 1950's sports jacket and contrasting trousers on, with dark brown suede brogues, a burgundy fedora, matching shirt, burgundy jumper (Clark Kent nerd/geek style) and tie and a burgundy, pearl white and light blue pocket square. Why would I correct him when he went out of his way to be so polite! Little things like that make your/my/one's day wouldn't you say! 🧐

Obviously a young chap with impeccable taste.

I bought this about 2 years ago. It's brass, from the 1940's or 50's the seller told me. It's definitely not gold as it isn't hallmarked. Today I wore the same jacket as I had on yesterday (yes, I do sometimes wear items 2 days on the trot, but let's keep it a secret eh!:secret:). When I put the jacket on I noticed that button hole badge thingy wasn't on the jacket. My thoughts were that it must've fallen off yesterday while I was out and about, or it had hopefully fallen off in my flat. Today after a few hours on and off searching my flat (and my car) I gave up on seeing it again. When I put the said jacket on a hanger a short while ago I saw the badge on another jacket! Now that's very good news that I hadn't lost it, but worrying that yesterday I went out without it in my button hole. I'm now worried that I might venture out incorrectly attired again!!

Standards old bean, standards.

If it happens again you'll be black balled from lunch at the club.

Heck, that was quick! Ordered on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, arrived at 1.15pm Thursday, via free Royal Mail postage. They are better quality then I expected. Maybe slightly a little too big as I'm around 60.5 cms, with these being 61 cms, but I'd rather have them a little lose than too tight.

The hats are quite decent! Warm and comfortable and very stiff/keep their shape feeling, not floppy and thin, like some costing far more I've bought in the past. I've worn both hats, with both attracting compliments. 🧐
