WoW.....Everton deducted 10 points.
I am a life long LFC fan but even to me this seems so harsh. What about City and Chelsea ?

As a Birmingham fan (we have already been punished in similar fashion, as have other Championship teams) I feel for the fans, but most of all feel for the fans of the other teams who Everton were able to outcompete financially. If this punishment had been implemented in a timely manner, Leicester would have stayed up last season. How do you compensate for that? In actual fact there are four very bad sides in the Premiership this year, and with just one win Everton will be back above all of them straight away, so they do not seem to be in much jeopardy. Everton were never likely to have qualified for Europe this season, so in what way have they actually been punished? Leicester, meanwhile, have been devastated. I really hope they can keep up their current momentum and get promoted back straight to the Prem at the first attempt.

A lot of truth in what you say there. It just seems unjust UNLESS Chelsea and City get similar punishment.

(Aside: as a Leicester fan, I see the benfits of relegation. Albeit not financial. It's enabled a reset after the mire we'd gotten ourselves into. But I do apprecaite the unexpected kind words @Donger )

I've no real feelings either way about Everton (the club that is, the fans I can empathise with) Football is a business and a seemingly increasingly dirty one, so nothing surprises me. I'm sure all clubs are creative in their book keeping.

I would like to see some parity though if punishments are to be handed out. I personally struggle to believe what Chelsea (for instance) have done over recent years is within FFP etc regs. And I only mention them as one of the more headline examples. As I suggest, I reckon all clubs are at it, one way or another, and are only ever an interpretation away from breaking the rules. And tbh, within the context of it being a big money game, I understand why. It's well worth running the risk of FFP knuckle rap fines to stay in the Prem - as Everton will demonstrate.

City have 115 charges pending.
Everton only had a single charge against them.
Watch this space, as it seems almost impossible to believe that all 115 charges will be dismissed.
And the level of punishment has been set fairly high for a single breach.

Tend to agree, though it depends on the nature of the charge(s) they might be found guilty of, not the number of accusations. You could expect a bigger sentence for one conviction for GBH than for 50 parking offences and nicking a few Kitkats. Until we know what can be proved, we can only guess what the punishment will be. I know I don't want to have to face Man City in the Championship next season!

Taking mini CK 2 too see Leicester women again tomorrow afternoon, I'm full of cold so not relishing it tbh

I hope you both enjoy and you're feeling a little more up for it come tomorrow. Could be a good game and hopefully they'll recover from the midweek collapse (they forgot how to defend 2nd half!) They've had a cracking start but I still think they are in for a scrap to stay up this season. I reckon they've enough about them though so should be ok.

Tbh, should I ever venture back that way (unlikely) then I'd watch the women's game in preference to the mens.

We beat the big spenders today and deservedly so! :okay:

We had a rendition of the last post and Reveille, followed by a minute's silence for a belated Remembrance Day service, due to being away from home last Saturday. The Accrington Pipe Band did the honours and it was impeccably observed by both sets of fans. A very emotional moment and a very good win for Accrington!!

But you also took advantage by increasing the ticket price for away fans by £5.00 for this game only knowing the away section would sell out.

In contrast for the return game Wrexham have offered a £5.00 discount for all Accrington fans.

Maybe they are not as bad as everybody makes out.

Yes, that was quite cheeky on our behalf! https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23932714.accrington-stanley-spat-wrexham-ticket-prices/ Fair play to The Red Dragons for reducing the price for Accy fans! I wonder if they do it for all visiting fans? 🤔

Something weird on the BBC website - of the League Two matches only Notts v Bradford, Harrogate v Swindon, Stockport v Colchester and Sutton v Tramere are permitting comments to be made.

BOTH fans. Home and away prices were increased by £5. Not dissimilar to other clubs having Band A and band B etc prices for bigger / smaller teams.

Fair play to Stanley, they don't have Hollywood backing and fair play to them for winning!

France beat Gibraltar by a record 14-0 (10 man Gibraltar after 20 minutes it ought be said, perhaps mootly) That's the mainly amateur Gibraltar as I think they have some pros or semi-pros. The questions may well be asked of course but maybe not by those Gibraltan players themselves. Would any of them want the experience of playing against France before a packed house taken away from them? I know I wouldn't. Back to the day job on Monday with a cherished memory.
