How are we all feeling about our club's transfer dealings and preparations for August? My club, Blackburn Rovers, have so far had a very positive summer:
  • We've kept our manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson. I thought there was a strong possibility he would be poached
  • Only two players departed, which was expected, interestingly one, Bradley Dack, has yet to find a club. Moves for others resisted so far
  • Three positive new signings; Niall Ennis, Sondre Tronstad and Arnor Sigurdsson but its recognised we need more fire-power
  • The news coming out of Brockhall, training ground, is the players are developing the system JDT plays rather than learning it as was the case last season
  • Less positive? We have no money. Incoming players have to be frees or we sell first. I, along with others, hope Thomas Kaminski, first choice keeper, goes for the rumoured £4m. Second choice Aynsley Pears is a far better keeper and proved this last season

My team have so far been less than inspiring, especially given we were so poor last season. The real action hasn't started yet, so there is still hope.

Given we were one of better teams in the championship last season, it more about not losing players and re-signing / replacing your returning loanees.

Six thru the door so farfor very little outlay, Keeper (Dieng) is sorted as Steffan went back to Man City, plus young defender van den Berg jnr (his brother is at Liverpool) and some promising but young forwards. Given we had a few loanees in those positions, remains to be seen if any are as effective as Archer was on loan in 2nd half of last season

Need to get Ryan Giles sorted to a perm deal, as he was one of the best player in the league last season or replace with equal quality, and hope Akpom doesnt get his head turned by a lower end Prem league club.

I suspect we'll get another two or three on loan once the Prem Club has sorted out their squads, Villa and Man city seem to like sending us their starlets to mould into better players....

...and then win the league at a canter...
