Nagelsmann might have two competing offers for his next redundancy payment, then…

Absolutely screeds of pages of euphoric CFC fans on Chelsea Chat tonight. The fans had had enough of the crazy team selections, subsitutions and no clear idea of who CFC are as a club. What a disasterous and ill-judged appointment.

I would take Potter at Leicester. Without an owner who buys players you don't want or need. Without so many superstars creating pressure so you don't know your best team, without the pressure to qualify for Champions league every year. I think he would be a good fit at Leicester, the best owners in the PL. A pretty decent squad. A World class new training ground.
Come on Graham, 10 games to get us up the league.

Very pleased for the supporters of “The White Shirted Hero’s”

Fell out of love with footy about 15 years ago. The diving, feigning injury and downright cheating by professional sportsmen was just too much.
Watched Wanderers from the despair of division 4 to the dizzying heights of the Premier League and even Europe. The fixture list began to rule my life so I just stopped.

That's pretty much me, apart from the Europe bit, never went to Munich for some unknown reason. 😲

I don’t agree it was way over the top - the club are paying him £10m pa and I think he should be doing far better for that money - so we shall have to agree to differ re my remarks.

Hope you manage to beat the drop - ten games left so should be doable. Good luck!

It is impossible to see how you can disagree.

It was absolutely way OTT. He HAS been successful as a manage at two other premier league clubs, so to suggest he i "a doe-eyed sap who would struggle managing a kids sunday league team." is so ridiculously OTT it beggars belief.

He is not doing remotely well at Chelsea, no doubt about that.

65 points out of a possible 138 at Swansea and 41,51,51 out of a possible 114 at Brighton does not equate with success to me.

Mercifully he is now history as far as CFC are concerned.

If Kompany goes to Spurs, his salary will multiply by a factor of X ( choose your number) he will presumably negotiate a contract of X years ? Should he fail with Burnley in the PL ? ( highly likely as Burnley will always be a poor relation in this league) then he will be sacked and his contract paid up. He is now out of work but probably very wealthy. Or should that be even wealthier ?

You can say that about 10/11 teams in the PL. Look at them, from 12th down none have won more than 7 matches this season. Just cannon fodder for the so-called big six.

Every team in the Championship has won more games than 9 of the PL clubs and all but four of League One and Two. It really does highlight what a desperately unfair competition the PL is.

Better to be successful at Burnley than fail at Spurs unless all you care about is cash. If that's the case one would hope whoever does the interviews would spot this.........but maybe not? 🤔

This is rather an unusual season in the PL. I can't remember the last time there were just 7 points between 12th and last at this stage of the season. It could still quite reasonably be any three of the bottom 9 to be relegated.

I must say I think you miss the point. Those tallies may not represent success for Chelsea but they did for Brighton.

But that is my point, I was talking about success in the grand scheme of things.

41 to 51 points over a season for Brighton may well be fabulous but Potter has dragged us down to a similar level this season - and for CFC that is an absolute disaster.

We can shilly-shally around OTT comments (not at all bothered by what other people think on that front tbh - everyone is entitled to their opinion) but the fact remains (imo) that the guy was way out of his depth and it is beyond bizzarre that he was even considered let alone appointed. Possibly, or more likely probably, a case of the new owner's naivety re Football.

For those clubs, that was pretty good going.

But in the context of the generally accepted Top 6 clubs his performance was very average.

No doubt he will find a berth at another club but I can't ever see him leading a title winning team in the EPL or CL.

That's my last word on him - he's gone and I just hope Todd & Co do a better recruitment job second time around - although it is sadly too late to save our season now.

Listing those points totals in isolation without comparisons are meaningless.
When Potter left Brighton they were 4th having just battered my team (Leicester City) 5 - 2.
Alan Shearer and Danny Murphy both agree that Chelsea was a ' poisoned chalice' with the owners scattergun approach to buying players.
You seem to believe it's all Potters fault. Seems like 'deja vu' all over again 😀
to me. Thomas Tucel won the Champions League, was 'showered' with nearly £300 mil worth of new players and then sacked after 20 months.
Potter barely had a chance, Chelsea is a 'headless giant' and you and many other Chelsea fans have tunnel vision, refuse to see the big picture and prefer to lump all the blame on Potter.
P.S Potter now favourite to replace Rogers at Leicester.
