Full description from SigmaSport of that Kask thingy (empahsis mine) - wtf? It 'feels' safer?:

"One of the most popular helmets on the market and for good reason, the Kask Mojito Road Helmet 2016 is ultra comfortable and also highly ventilated with 26 large air vents keeping you cool while you put in the big effort.

The superior quality of the Kask styling and workmanship that has gone into these helmets is evident in the overall finish and attention to detail in every feature. In particular, the helmet incorporates a unique hinged adjustment system that allows for both size and up/down adjustment, which together comfortably cradle the nape of the neck. The helmet size can be adjusted using either the dial or finger push system. This system also includes ventilated, non-stick pads. Working together, these features give the helmet a superior fit and deliver a feeling of improved security that is quite unlike any other helmet.

Unsurpassed ventilation is achieved by means of 26 large air vents, a design feature made possible by the reinforced helmet frame - all delivered without any compromise to the safety or aerodynamic qualities of the helmet. Hygiene is also well thought through and each helmet has an easy-clean leatherette chin strap. The internal pads are made from a sanitised fabric which draws perspiration away from the head and these pads are removable and washable.

Nylon thermo fixed straps, have soft lateral spacers where these straps are in contact with the skin, giving excellent ventilation and comfort. This is complimented with a quick release buckle. On top of this, Kask has gone beyond the usual minimal consideration of visibility. In addition to the standard reflector stickers on the back, each helmet has reflective strips on every strap.

Please note: Helmets that are sold on Sigmasport.co.uk are certified with a European CE EN1078 standard. Specific countries may have their own certification, which is legally required. Please check your specific country requirements and check with the manufacturer to see if the helmet has received any additional certification."

A 'feeling of increased security' makes me think... well, no one's going to steal my head with a helmet locked around it

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Ok, manufacturer or sales?
What does performs excellently in crash situation mean? That's meaningless market speak. In what way does it perform excellently and compared to what?

Belief is the issue, like ghosts or gods. The evidence simply doesn't support the belief. I'm certain @srw will oblige with the relevant article (I'm about to fly) on denominator neglect that neatly demonstrates that cycling on roads is a very low risk activity.
This one?

Admittedly it relates to riding through the traffic of central London - taxi drivers, Ubers, Addison Lees, HGVs and all - rather than the sort of dangerous pootling through country lanes with his chums that @Justinslow likes to do.

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
A very strange thing happened today. I cycled into town and saw dozens of cyclists but the only one wearing a helmet was about 3 years old. I'd estimate it's often under 10% here but no adults in 8-10 miles of suburban/urban cycling? That's impressive.

To be fair, there's a small chance that I failed to notice one on the A10 inbound but I definitely paid attention and saw only that one child after crossing the A149 inbound. It was still icy on some streets too! I love Linnets and their(our?) normal warm clothes approach to cycling  Here's one from yesterday - I've not downloaded the camera footage for today.

Right, so it's not actually a claim from the manufacturer then, just some marketing guff (I checked on the kask website, and the text you quoted isn't on the mojito page)
I've told the ASA about Rutland Cycling. I doubt they'll do much, but let's try anyway!

It's difficult enough sorting the facts from the hype about helmets without shops making claims that the manufacturers don't.

Cracking a solo.

Never say never.

Update;

Halfords Ltd

Dear Mugshot,

Thank you for contacting us at the ASA regarding a webpage for a helmet on the Halfords website. We contacted the advertisers, who gave us their assurance that the claim of “absolute safety” would be removed from the website.

On the basis of their assurance, we’ll close our file, and basic details will appear on the website, www.asa.org.uk on Wednesday 11th November.

Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns with us.

Kind regards

Resolutely on topic
surely there cannot possibly be anybody on here who previously WAS a helmet wearer who has read all the 'anti' comments and has thought to himself 'do you know what, I don't think I'll wear one any more
Are you a betting man?

That member hasn't been seen since making that claim... presumably they're perusing the entire thread or busy eating their words. Who knows?

The mojito performs excellently thanks to being constructed exactly like almost all helmets??? Could you give the source of that, please? I'd love to test whether it stands up to a challenge with the advertiser or ASA, or whether it'll get withdrawn like a half odds claim did.

I think POC market their helmets on safety, as I think I've linked before.

POC are different in that they market the MIPS system

This is basically a two layer helmet that allows the inner helmet to rotate reducing rotational injury, whilst maintaining the integrity of the helmet ad a whole

IIRC a motorcycle helmet technology

as you well know I did not say that at all. "so you are saying..." then mis-stating what I said is lazy and dishonest.

What I said is it's all very well quoting an individual incident (unsaid - where they may or may not have helped). Howeve it is undeniable by even the most pro-helmet person that a helmetted head is bigger and also we know as a matter of fact that helmet compulsion hasn't helped in australia
Quick question - is this discussion on helmet effectiveness or helmet compulsion laws?
