I've paid today for the Christmas Day meal for five; it's also an 80th birthday celebration.

At first £100 a head seemed expensive but I remembered my parents doing the same in about 1986 and it was £50 a head. So far less of a price increase than many other items.

Unless its the local Harvester, then yes that's not bad at all for Xmas day

No need to spend a fortune on a slap-up Xmas dinner

Driving along this morning and flicked on the DAB radio for my usual news channel, but instead had my ears assaulted by festive music (Stop the cavalry).

Accident reporters state with some confidence that speed is a significant factor in KSIs, but i think "Heart Christmas" might also be a risk!

At least I haven't heard Last Christmas, yet

Cheeky post this, given its a Halloween comment, but yesterday saw 3 lots of parents and kids out round the houses (I was driving at the time) at approx 4.15 in broad daylight.

I had one lot like this at my house last year and I asked the parent what they were doing, it was supposed to be an after dark 'scary' event and she said she had to do it in daylight as she (the adult!) was too afraid to take them out in the dark.
Its a close packed housing estate with minimal crime and a load of commuters driving about from 4.00pm to about 6.30pm, plus there are usually loads of families with kids wandering about from late dusk until at least 7.30pm!

I am waiting for next year, when they turn up at lunchtime...
