I've just got an M-Vave Mini-Universe as a stop gap shimmer. Works beautifully with humbuckers but a tad underwhelming with single coils. Will try running some boost and or gain before it to see if that gets the signal enhanced.
Tried a bunch of other reverbs that were supposed to shimmer but I was looking at £100+ second hand to beat it, so it will do fine until then and there some other fun effects on it too

Loving the feelmof the Rickenbacker, not so hot on the tone which is a bit too clangy for me.

Options are a Bartolini or Duncan neck pup, which are easily reversible, or a mudbucker conversion, which doesn't require any extra routing and can be referred with a new pickguard.

I'm erring towards the Bartolini, but wonder what you guys think?

I also seem to have developed a hankering for a Nate Mendel signature precision. Jeez, a heroin addiction would be less expensive.

I've had the saddle off my electric guitar today trying the fettle the intonation. It's a wraparound saddle; the most basic type one can get and I'm NOT looking to replace it with anything compensated or tunamatic.

The three wound strings are slightly sharp on the 12th, but only on the attack... after a couple of seconds the sustain settles to a green light on my tuners. The three unwound strings are bob on. Is this just the nature of wound strings, I wonder?

PS. I've used two different clip-on tuners, both with fresh batteries. They give the same reading.

Contemplating what order to run some or all of these in order to expand my sonic pallet. I usually play space rock, ambient, or blues rock with occasional trips to surf. I tend to confine myself to the wah, Rat, then one or more of the delay/phlange/reverb etc, and finish with the noise gate if there is unwanted noise in the chain. If I using a guitar with single coils I will stick the compressor and/or eq early in the chain as some of the pedals prefer humbuckery things. I also use the pedals with bass. I have a few fuzzs that I don't use much anymore, and a looper (90 sec) that goes at the end if I use it. My amps are all single input and mostly I have been using an ancient East German bass amp recently. Any friendly suggestions on order experiments to play around with sound?? Ta

I got used to using the tuner pedal when gigging - they won't fall off and get lost in the dark and they're easier to see in the gig environment - so I've stuck with it, but I've nothing against clip ons for use elsewhere, although I don't have one myself.

The other advantage of the pedal is a quick stomp also cuts of the instrument from the amp, so good for between songs at a gig or when the doorbell rings at home.

A useful additional ability
