In typical Discovery style this looks like a complete c*ck up as well as they have my next payment due the end of this week as £3.99. Cancelled as the current tours I do not have the time to watch the whole thing and their are no event markers so a Youtube highlight package is a lot more informative.

XC world champs this w/e. Cancel after that. Have just paid Jan's £6.99 an Feb's is showing as £3.99: but no access to sports.

Have to say I reluctantly pay Sky monthly and the only reason (for me) to keep it was for Eurosport's cycling coverage.

If it was just me in the house I would bin it tomorrow but unfortunately Mrs C watches a lot of TV so I guess I will have to keep paying it.

Very annoyed about this to say the least.

Cycling will (to the general public) be limited to a few highlights packages of the GT's .

Lots of great cycling will now go "under the radar"

Just doing the maths. If I subscribe from now till the end of July (so stop after the TdFF) it’ll cost me £224. So I need to cancel Zwift and stop my weekly Friday coffee treat and I can just about balance it out!
They are so greedy. I’m furious!

Anyone know any free smart trainer websites I can use instead of Zwift?

Well the presenters are hardly likely to criticise it are they? Pushing the channel they work for is part of their job.

As to why only the UK? I'll make a guess that in the UK cycling is more of a fringe sport in the UK than in continental Europe. So there are relatively few subscribers watching ES for the cycling, low enough not to bother with and if you can convert a minority of those onto the big full package then all the better. So maybe there aren't enough people watching cycling in the UK to actually cause a "massive drop in revenue". And maybe in continental Europe there are more cycling viewers so they need to be given a bit more respect.
I don't think it is anything to do with the cycling specifically.

Discovery+ standard carried quite a lot of sports, it was only the "big" things like Champions League or Premier league football or premiership rugby that you needed a premium account for.

But most of the other sports are as "fringe" or more so as cycling.

I'm currently using an old Wahoo Elemnt cycling computer coupled with a Wahoo Kickr to simulate routes that I have saved on Strava, it's not pretty or fun but I'm cancelling everything in the hope of keeping some money in the bank.

What does anyone know about cycling.today? Free streaming? I saw it on Bluesky but don’t know if it’s legit?
Well, do you think a website with legit rights would not show any physical contact or company details (not legal for any UK or EU company, amongst others), have hidden almost all its registration info, and be hosted on a cloud service? And how would they have legit access to show races to the UK that WBD claim to have exclusive rights for?

I think you know if it's legit.

You could dump Sky, and get a NOW TV account, basically Sky without contract, then dip in & out for whatever you want, as when you want it, works out cheaper too, but no record facility.

There's no cycling on Now TV.
I've never seen any anyway.
Just Sky channels, no Eurosport.

Oh well at least my sky contract is up for renewal in the middle of March so bye bye SKY sports hello TNT sports, I do watch the football and a few other sports and they have a game most weeks and some weeks they have most of the games, plus champions league and the cycling it's an easy choice, than and cost of telling Mrs tarric that there's no more cycling is worth the extra couple of £.

Nah - I need Sky SPorts because we watch the F1 coverage
it is something we do together - generally the practice, qualifying, race and the follow up

it does seem a rip off because that is literally the only thing we watch on Sky SPorts

I watch Eurosport for the cycling - but a lot I have watched has had terrible coverage
The grand Tours are OK - TdF is good but ITV do it better (this year only apparently!) but the other 2 not so good but OK

Other races can be dodgy - often just cuts into the live coverage with no background
One race seemed to be a second/third tier race - no names I knew anywhere
then towards the end suddenly a group of top Tdf type rider suddenly popped up and took over - they had not even been mentioned before and I had been watching for well over 30 minutes!
It was basically just the full race commentary with no intro and the commentators were clearly no aware the highlight watchers had joined!

and often it starts or finished at different time to those on the schedule - so if I record it I miss the start and I often get 45 minutes of tennis at the start of a 60 minute recording
Just terrible service!!

Which may be why they don;t get the viewing figures they want??

anyway - I'll not be paying extra on top of the basic Virgin package plus Sports and a couple of bit - it already costs a lot and I'm not adding more money every month for coverage that is often not taht great!
