Hi - firstly welcome having just bought a (second hand) original BKOOL trainer and also just joined this group.

I time trial with my local club and have tried using the BKOOL software to make a video route but I am not having much luck so far. I apologise in advance if we are going over old ground but...

I am using a Drift HD Ghost 1080p camera and an Edge 810 so I need to marry up the video with the GPS files. The issue that I have seems to be that the Ghost splits video into 30 minute files so I need to stitch them together, which I have tried with the MS proprietary software but I end with a number of problems:

Firstly - file size: I can't seem to get the file down to a sensible size (even for a 15 mile time trial) without serious degradation of video quality (I have already downloaded VideoSoftDev and Handbrake having skimmed this forum). Hopefully that issue is now resolved

Secondly when I stitch the 2 files together Windows Movie Editor says that I have a file of 35 odd minutes in length but the BKOOL software reports that it is circa 6 mins in length (i.e. the length of the second segment). Is this a common issue or one that can be resolved with Handbrake?

Any advice/suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Cheers,

LOL Sorry guys. I really am.
Another ride I picked for one of the first 2 stages was Richmond Park which I then cancelled for shorter rides. It seems the software still saved them somewhere though and then when you guys selected leagues in Bsim they were there. Tomorrow and Sunday should be free from glitches. Hopefully only the actual ride will be there and they are short so not too bad for anyone with jelly legs
And don't worry about Bradders, Another 300/400w average and we could be like him.

So I found a thread related to Strava not exporting the elevation data (this is technically a Strava limitation) and someone posted this workaround (which I beleive would work with MMR too):
Create route in strava
Export as a gpx or tcx
Import gpx into Ridewithgps.com
Export again as you favoured type

I've not yet tried it (I don't think I can see the elevation profile without a BKool device)
Should work as RideWithGPS has a very effective elevation correction facility

Hi Bill, applied to the Test Group, just awaiting your acceptance. Looking forward to smashing out some EASY runs, for research purposes! Lol! Are we suspending the round the world temporarily, pending some tweaking by Pascual?

Way out of my league V! I throw my bike on the black spinny thing, turn on laptop, ride whatever Bill or Pascual throw at me, sob inconsolably at my pitiful effort disolayed in front of me, and go to bed. I do however appreciate the efforts of other dedicated users, uploading their videos, so please continue to persevere.

Hi Add. That's you in the group now. So you should be able to join the test league.

One way of avoiding what happened to Berty and Rayvon would be to go to bkool.com and then to the test leage then stages and select a stage and add it it your favorites. Then when ready to do the stage, enter it through the favorites tab in Bsim. This doubly so if there are 2 stages running at the same time like today. I'll be trying that method tomorrow.

Hi all. Newbie here who is trying to get back into cycling after a few years out. Just took delivery of a classic for the 30 day trial. Seems promising but it kept losing connection this evening though i suspect my broadband could have been a contributing factor.

Mind if a join in with you all? I promise I'll be last every time! (Cant pm yet but on the bkool as 'rickbrown at hot mail dot com'.

Welcome Blueface (isn't that some kind of sheep?) to our glitch filled version of cycling Eutopia! But you shouldn't make promises you can't keep! Last place is a highly contested and sought after position! Maybe we can share it?

Hi Blueface. If you are Hickory then I think you've already joined. All stages should be do-able because I set the parameters to accept rides outside of the finish date.
Tip: Alpe'd Huez and Richmond park are not the intended rides for this test;)

Unfortunately I can't see a way to tweak the settings once the league has been started, so guess its the same for Pascual. Best way seems to be to set parameters initially as loosely as possible to accept all results.
