Only just got in, well done on all the pb's, what were the final standings?
Did we not tell you Kip? This was just so we could get the true handicap times. The real one is next week.

You were cutting on Geoff, did you get a PB?

Yes, 4 mins faster than best KICKR time, and 1.5 mins faster than my best Bkool Pro time. Was pacing to try and get just under the hour and had worked out I needed to average 260 Watts, but just couldn't keep that pace in the middle third. Picked up a bit in last third, encouraged by Blue closing on me a second every 2 seconds, and got 256.5 watts, missing the hour by 43 seconds. So 260 watts was a pretty good estimate for the hour.

Thanks for organising it, it adds a certain something to the motivation. Perhaps a bit unfair for those right at the back, as it is hard to knock 5 or 10 minutes off an already fast time.

Perhaps use 95% handicap next time?

But not bloody alpe d'huez, I've seen enough of that for a while!

Well after all my chopsing, I had a bloody mare of a start. Because I went back in through my programmed tab, it started a new session without you guys in it! So I exited and my computer froze. By the time I had reopened BSim, started the race, Bill and Blue had gone. Threw EVERYTHING at that first half to catch Bill, but had little left for the end.
Still got an Huez PB. Looked close for a few of you at the end.

So it turns out you actually started at the right time almost. Looks like you started about 20 seconds behind me and probably knackered yourself catching me. Excellent race and little I could do to get ahead.

Add it shows you at 4.2 watts/kg. Where is your green hat?

You're forgetting the 95% factor. The fitness levels are based on FTP in Watts per Kg, and FTP Is estimated as 95% of 20 minute FTP or 30+ minute session.

Those of us that took an hour or longer don't need to estimate the FTP, we've already got the hour average! ^_^

Yeah I enjoyed it, even though I cocked my start up. You would certainly have struggled to make up over 3 minutes I think. I don't mind not doing Huez next time either if I'm honest!

I'd have had absolutely no chance. Not that I was expecting anything but last place. Assuming everyone started at their allocated time.

A suggestion for improvement for Bkool would be actually be able to see the names (and time differences) of all the riders in the race on the left hand side of the screen, rather than the nearest 3(?). I appreciate this is difficult if the race has lots of entrants but it would be good to see where you all are compared to each other rather than just the nearest few.

Geoff I have to work out if town until Monday. I can do a Cheddar Gorge climb in the morning if there isn't anything under the league tab yet but not sure about the Velodrome session. How many laps? Or was it time?

I totally agree with this and have always thought it would be much better especially Chain Gang races when I wanted to know how everyone was doing and watch the close racing using the times at the side.

Just looked at my previous D'huez rides and this was my 20th complete ride since October 22nd. The times improved significantly since the first. There are also 8 partial ride entries where the time is just a smidge over 30 mins

Yeah, I was copying you Bill:laugh: it was a really good 30 minutes!

Me and Bkool are sometimes a Marx brothers comedy. First I loose and then cannot find the ride. Second, I Couldn't clip in with my left shoe because some plastic had lodged in the mechanism and I had to pull it out. Then I couldn't change down on the rear cassette because I forgot I was running Shimano not sram:whistle: took me 15 minutes to work that out so I was running 34 -11 and out the saddle almost the whole time. And looking at the screen and getting more and more fed up as you all pulled away so I thought I would push for 30min and see if I could keep the watts up. Disappointed to have bailed but I will be back! May have to have a go later this week and chase some rather fast ghosts:bicycle:

I would have made Active 10 if I'd quit at 30 minutes, but thought that might be a bit rude.
Besides, had Bill in my sights for a while there. But once again he cooked me!
