I did think once they caught you the three of you would work together until Brusgaard was dropped. I was surprised when you broke free so easily ... just shows how hard Bill and Brusgaard were working to reel you in!
I realized once they caught me that there were only a couple of places where I could hope to drop @BILL S who i have to say I'm scared of in a sprint, and when I got a small gap in the first one I had to go for it.

I'll add your ghost when I ride that course but you looked strong so not sure if I'll be able to beat you. My best bet will be to try and push everything to stay with Bill from the off then hang on for dear life and hope that gives me a big enough lead ... but the lead 3 went off so fast it could back fire and I go into the red too early and just go POP!
I was pushing nearly 700 watts at the start, and those three went away from me as if I was standing still!! How they managed to sustain their initial output for as long as they did beats me. I'll console myself with the thought that I didn't want to undo all the work the osteopath put in this afternoon

Well that's my plan out the window then ... I can't push that many watts! Hope I can at least latch on to you and suck your wheel for as long as I can

As the league doesn't seem to be working can anybody who wants their times recorded either enter them directly on the spreadsheet or enter them here tagging me and I will then enter them .

Well that was tougher than I expected. As usual @keithaitch , your start was too vicious for me to latch on, although I do wonder if it would be worth putting in the effort to try and latch on then get a free ride to the next hill, where you'll drop me for sure.
Anyway, well done all for entering the Nations Cup Qualifying league. The ride we've just done, just a mere fraction of the "fun" on actual race day. I'm guessing we might need some reserve riders so worth competing for places below the top 5.
Assuming we both make the team, and once we know the scoring system, i suggest we work out our tactics to work ttogether, me letting you latch on at the start and pulling you on the hills and you letting me draught on flats, assuming we aren't needed as domestiqués for aaac!

I was the other Keith...first time out (thanks for the help getting in). 8 minutes off the leader - but happy enough. I am keen to learn how to ride with others....so will try to buddy up next time round, but find it quite difficult in the virtual world. Now - what about etiquette....I calibrate my turbo (Bushido) against my Garmin Vector so try t keep the numbers sensible - and run in FE-C mode. I know I can go quicker in ERG or in dumb mode - frowned upon? [accidentally punched ERG to take a photo on my phone at the end!]

and all those rubber neckers as we pass Stonehendge)
Your not feking wrong.
I used to go by Stonehenge twice a day in the 90's and never got stuck like I do now.
I flew back from Kent last Friday and then joined the queue just the over side of the Amesbury roundabout, I knew I should have turned right and gone the back way.
Anyway, 25 minutes later chugging up to the top of the hill where the lanes converge and then we were still chugging.
Get past Stonehenge and you wonder why you were going slow.
Fair enough the end of the dual carriageway cause a bit of a tail back but because folk are already going slow they going even slower past the old pile of rocks.
It's a real PITA. They should take them all back to Wales and dump them back at the top of a big hill!
The we might get a feking dual carriageway.

That is good news.. pick up the wrong tensioning strap?

Yep, put my wifes on.
She's a 34EE and I'm a 42BB so the straps were a little tight.
Anyway cause HID works in an hospital she had to go and talk to a specialist to get a 'third party diagnosis' and he told her I should keep off of the bike until I've seen the GP so now I will be working against my wife's view that I should be laying off of the bike.
So now I will have to go see the GP and may well end up getting raped again (bend over Sir while I put my gloves on).
Didn't realise my heart was up my 6 o'clock!

Do they not know how important the Nations Cup is?!? Be a shame to lose our star rider, but health comes first @AAAC 76C so don't do anything silly :okay:

The Nations Cup is a rolling maths lesson.
We need a DS who can watch where we all are as it is sometimes better to drop back to stop a teammate losing 2 places rather than just gaining one or none yourself. Plus as a group you can work over opponents to get them out of your group and hence assure your team a better points total.

I saw you on the ride towards the end, I think I even added some road paint as encouragement :okay:

I say set your trainer up any way you see fit, so long as you have a good ride, have fun, and compete at a level you're happy with. In the official Nations Cup when it runs ERG mode won't be allowed, but in our weekly races this is fine and others do use it (it's no massive advantage as far as I can gather anyway). Most of us race to keep fit and having fun .... winning or doing well in the leagues is a by-product :hugs:
