Had a bit of a play with the trainer and edge head units.

Cadence, HRM and Power sensors are the same on both devices.

Speed and Distance on left is from a speed sensor and the edge calculation on distance.

Speed on the right it is from the bkool classic trainer. I think distance is calculated on that.

Power in bsim was higher than the PM by up to 40 watts at times, avg current power was about 15-20w higher. The average power was 20 watts higher on bsim.

Not sure what conclusions can be drawn from this. I thought I'd just stick the info up here.

Edit to add :-

This was my last session before Christmas. I've got 2 planned sessions to do over Christmas and Boxing day. Only z1 leg turners that I'll do before going anywhere each day. Then back on lejog and CG leagues plus anything else I choose to do.

I'll be floating on and off of here. So enjoy yourself, have a Happy Christmas and merry new year , please spare a thought for me over new year I am on call :cursing:.

I'd conclude use the unit on the right.
I did skew the reading a bit by taking the pic of the readings on a descent warm down session . But i saw the same in the lejog stage I was doing (hence the pic).

Power is definitely generated in the bsim software beacause I disabled the vectors on the right edge unit and the power stopped being read, but bsim still showed it.

Could attend in theory since the Christmas diner I was going to was cancelled.
If only I hadn't done that 3 hours endurance ride this morning.

Nice title warm up:okay:

It was lejog stage 9 29.5km and col de la madeleine 19km, I'm not sure how far I'd gone on the descent session when I took the pic (time and distance are the two combined). I did get 5 mile lap timings from the right hand device when I was expecting them in relation to the bsim distances on the lejog stage.

I've just gone to check the full distances on the edge unit and find I didn't save the session correctly :banghead: :cursing:

I'll do this again when I do another lejog stg/descent session and post another pic.

I'm hoping to be fit enough to ride this again before the end of the year. The one thing you don't need 2 days before Christmas is to end up incapacitated with a bad back
