I aspire to be as average as you have become even without the remote control doping :notworthy:

Confession and Apologies

Apologies first ... To @bridgy , @Daddy Pig for beating your SC5 times and to @Brusgaard to jumping ahead of you on the SC GC by 1 minute

Hehe, I did notice your re-run time yesterday evening, and was almost ready to congratulate you. But for some reason your new time wasn't reflected in the SC rankings, when they were updated, so maybe you had been caught cheating. But this morning it was, together with Skullfuks re-run of the same stage and other pre-update stages.

I've sent BKOOL a very harsh message on Messenger asking them to get their act together and remove the bogus ELITE results from the SC (and hopefully other rankings).

Is any one up for some sort of protest on their, or their SC sponsors, Facebook page(s) ?? I'm getting tired of defending the BKOOL platforms bugs against the likes of Zwift and other inferior platforms.

and so there you have it.. where ever competition is introduced, the need to cheat is irresistible to some people. They're only cheating themselves @Whorty - good work. As Mr @AAAC 76C has suggested, it's unimportant..

Funnily enough.. four week ago I was averaging 250+ watt rides and now I can't produce over 220 averages . no changes in set-up, no illness, feeling fine - I just can't reach those performances anymore.. strange..

I fear a return to Beige status is inevitable :thanks:

Re: your struggle with power. There was a BSIM update recently so maybe that had an impact? I'm about 20 watts down too since that change.
I'm having the same results. I am about 20w down on power in Bsim. However my Vectors are now showing very similar power levels 0-10w less rather than a consistent -30w of before. Also BRVR are now showing similar power levels to the vectors. It seems as though I can get to 200-210w fairly well. It's when I am trying to go over that I have trouble.

Absolutely- I thank I need to reset my expectations and forget my mid-summer purple patch.. perhaps that's what they were all calling Bkool 'kindness'?

I've never been comfortable with my active red hat. In fact, I think I earned it sucking @AAAC 76C's wheel

I think we just have to accept that it's virtually (excuse the pun) impossible for BKool to lock down all cheating. We just have to see the virtual racing for what they are, a bit of fun where first and foremost we compete against ourselves. My test proves that cheating is easy but hard to stop and spot.

I did a search on google for ZWift cheating and they have the same kinds of issues so it's not restricted to BKool. Problem is, if someone wants to cheat they will and it's best to let them get on with it and ignore them in the rankings rather than waste too much energy ourselves worrying about it.

Whorty, I couldn't agree more. That is why it is encumbent on anyone who runs a race series, especially at cat B and most certainly Cat A, to introduce verification of power, either by PM or trainer type. For lots of race series on Zwift now you get disqualified if you ride beyond a certain w/pkg. all riders have the option to flag a rider who seems to be err, performing beyond their or any reasonable ability. In the higher cat race series a flagged or disqualified rider has to produce evidence of real life rides or similar for their time/place to stand. I imagine this is all easy enough for bkool to introduce but it may be admin heavy to monitor. Perhaps they should delegate that power to race series admins?
Zsun have asked me to race with them this autumn, perhaps in cat c but possibly cat d:ohmy: and I have had to produce dob, weight, ftp and then these were checked against rides in Zwift to get an idea of w/kg. Nothing scientific and certainly not as onerous as the Masters series where you need to produce proof of ID, that is age really, to race.
I'm in the ZWift FB group and there was a thread again yesterday complaining about cheating in rides in there too. If someone wants to cheat, and has the know-how, they will. Not just us amateurs who dope in cycling!

My ride yesterday (assuming cutting the power to the trainer also works in ZWift) would not have failed Zwift checks as I only registered 3.3 watts per kilo. Be interesting to see if the same bug/feature is present in Zwift - anyone want to test this?

You are right. I am not suggesting zwift is perfect but there are checks and balances and for races winning watts per kilotypically 5w/pk would be disqualified because they are unrealistic.
All you guys want is a system for flagging/disqualifying that brings a degree of respectability to your league and race results and it exists to an extent in Zwift but cheaters will find ways to evade just like in real life.

So what you are basically saying is that we should ACCEPT cheating, just because it is done on a computer instead of on the road? Try telling that to the many eSports events around the world with teams making millions of dollars in prizemoney....

Why did you choose a SC stage to prove that power-cheating was possible? You could have used ANY of your previous sessions since you bought your BKOOL. I find that a bit sad...

I wanted to pick a recent ride so I was comparing against my current fitness - no point using a ride I rode months ago as my fitness has changed so much in the past few months. It also had to be a course with small ups and downs as I wanted to test what we suspect others are doing (using the cheat to get over the small lumps, but cycling on the downs/flats). Also, no point in testing it on a none league ride - I wanted to see if BKool admin would pick the anomaly up and reject the ride, which they didn't. Had I chosen a none league ride I couldn't have tested for that.

Don't get so upset @Brusgaard , the league is for fun and my one false ride won't change the GC much. I'll ride slower on one of the rides so you can take back your advantage over me ^_^

I accept that people cheat. Nothing I can do to stop it, but at least now we know how easy it is and the possible gains (I'd say 10-15% advantage). I have absolutely no issue with BKool taking my time out of the league. I'm not precious about where I am in the league. I enjoy riding, i try to beat my own times, but if others beat me the so be it.

I would hope that if eSports (who ever they are) have prize money events then they should be checking for anomalies .... clearly BKool don't/can't. It's also not just cycling online where people cheat - happens with all types of online gaming. For some people, winning by whatever means is more important.

I thought it was just me. I put new tires on for a real world ride and thought that they made a big difference

First you deliberately chose the longest stage, and therefore with most time to be gained by cheating.

Next, you could have stopped 100m before the finish and saved and still have all the proof you need, your effort recorded, but not messed up the rankings.

It is common knowledge that BKOOL currently accepts any ride, no matter how bogus they are. Didn't need to prove that...

Sure the league is for fun, but me re-doing a lot of stages, because of my post-injuries results being sub-par, was no fun. I think I earned that 10 minute lead against you, only to be p*ssed away by you first drafting most of stage 9 and then this cheat...

eSports is the common name for people competing in Counter Strike, World of Warcraft, League of Legends etc. It is a billion dollar business these days...

If cheating is generally accepted on this forum, maybe it should be Team CycleCheat instead...

Makes you question the validity of any future Nations Cup events...

bit harsh !
least whorty is honest enough to say that he tried it
kinda glad i had my hissy fit 6 mnths ago
if there are prizes or a first place to be had there will always be cheating - from the school playground to big business - it is human nature
i dont think anyone will cure it
18mnths ago i used to really look forward to our little tussles with the passwords - we all knew where we stood and there was some good banter about it
o the good old days
dont look to me for the answers - i told them i would go if they didn't change - they didn't change so i had to go - i miss our rides but hope to get them back someday on some format
in the meantime i hope this gets sorted and no-one falls out
i also think that if whorty says he will penalise himself next time - i am sure he will
