I averaged 167, maxing out at 174. Every time I slowed down to rest, @BILL S came back for me, kicked me up the butt, and made me ride on :B) I must get myself some electronic doping for the next stage

I did see you jump on my wheel on Thursday and I thought that I could use your 'potential energy' to help me go downhill.but despite your stocky build compared to me (I've seen the phots) you BKool at 82kg (324.47 watts/3.91 per kg, impressive considering where you thought you were) only 2 kg more than me so alas it was not to be.

Does this mean the Summer Cup does not check weight.

Time for some 'weight doping'

I knew it, I lost a whole 8 seconds at the start and in doing that missed having a hyper start, that's got to be worth the 27 seconds I had chasing the guys in front.
Robbed by technology. If I had joined late my time would have been taken from joining.

Peche!

Still almost 3 minutes behind Jacob though (3 minutes over 31, almost 10%, Peche, Peche)

Now, don't worry I am not about to post any post irony comments -as if I would

I have posted previously about a French trip next year and I think Dean and LEE interested, possibly TT. Well Angus is chasing for confirmation of numbers in the email I have copied below. 6 of us have paid our deposits for that weekend. Max is 12. A few more are deliberating or summoning strength to ask their significant others. Anyway, it would be helpful know whether initial interest has morphed into a firm commitment. Also once we know who is coming we can look to see when flights become available and so book straight away for the cheapest price.

The group i traveled with to Ventoux this year with La Vie en Velo is now being asked to confirm a Pyrennes trip next year, weekend of lovely Pyrenees Mountain climbing from Friday 29th June to Tuesday 3rd July. We may extend by a day either side. Chalet takes 12. I know some of you expressed an interest. At the moment subject to currency fluctuations about £550-600 to collect and bring bikes over, collect at airport on arrival and then to chalet where accommodation included plus breakfast and evening meals. Support also included.

Gives usual details.
I think there are 6 of us already, max of 12.

Hi again, Gents,

I keep losing track of where we are at with next year's trip. Can we confirm, if possible, please? 29th June to 3rd July to the Pyrenees, staying in Luchon? That time of year is in demand so I'd like to get it clarified, please.

Just needs some deposits to get it inked in to my diary and to the chalet's diary.

Sorry to hassle you, but it is time!

Confession and Apologies

Apologies first ... To @bridgy , @Daddy Pig for beating your SC5 times and to @Brusgaard to jumping ahead of you on the SC GC by 1 minute

Now the confession ....

I re-ran the SC5 yesterday, the long 47km course, and had power 'problems' to the turbo. Only seemed to effect me on the ascents - strange  On the descents the power was ok on the turbo. I used one of the power sockets that AAAC posted earlier.

Screen shots below of my time, with a 3.3 w/kg which is way too low for the speed I was going. I was hoping the admins would pick this ride up as dodgy and not approve it, but the only red x was against improved time .... it didn't see the power drop outs as strange. It only shows a 'lost signal' of 3.966 which given I 'lost power' on every single ascent (but never for more than 30 seconds ... ) this seems far too low. This is the first time I'd used this cheat (and it will be the last) but I reckon you could become really practiced at it and gain even more time.

@AAAC 76C can you do your funky analysis of my ride and see how the speed and power graphs look? Be interesting to see if this looks anything like what Pepe's rides look like.

This is such an easy cheat I'd not be surprised if others use it all the time. It still gave me a good work out as I was having to get a good speed up going into th ascents but I didn't work as hard as I should to get that time (well, i'd never get that time by not cheating but you know what I mean). I reckon I could have knocked a minute or 2 off my previous time but not the 10 minutes I gained. I got off the turbo, and even though I posted such a fast time, and it was a good session, it just felt hollow. I know I had cheated and there was no pride in the time.

Anyway - just wanted you all to see how easy it is for someone as average as me to play the game and get a better time than clearly superior riders like Bridgy and DP (still couldn't catch @AAAC 76C though :notworthy: )

and so there you have it.. where ever competition is introduced, the need to cheat is irresistible to some people. They're only cheating themselves @Whorty - good work. As Mr @AAAC 76C has suggested, it's unimportant..

Funnily enough.. four week ago I was averaging 250+ watt rides and now I can't produce over 220 averages . no changes in set-up, no illness, feeling fine - I just can't reach those performances anymore.. strange..

I fear a return to Beige status is inevitable :thanks:

I wonder what would happen if bkool read that ? Would it still be ignored ? I hope your honesty doesn't get you booted out while others may be getting away with it - even by accident

O it's so hard trying to be diplomatic
I'd not be upset if they removed my cheat ride but I don't think they will.

As i've always said on here, you can only ever compare against yourself on BKool, Zwift and the like as there are so many variables at play, even before people start to cheat. I don't get cheating either - I mean yes, I now have a time faster than @bridgy but I KNOW i cheated and I'm not anywhere near as fast as him so what have I really gained?!? There is surely no pleasure in doing that week in, week out. Or maybe for some people there is ... hard to get in some people's heads.

Re: your struggle with power. There was a BSIM update recently so maybe that had an impact? I'm about 20 watts down too since that change.

Whorty, I couldn't agree more. That is why it is encumbent on anyone who runs a race series, especially at cat B and most certainly Cat A, to introduce verification of power, either by PM or trainer type. For lots of race series on Zwift now you get disqualified if you ride beyond a certain w/pkg. all riders have the option to flag a rider who seems to be err, performing beyond their or any reasonable ability. In the higher cat race series a flagged or disqualified rider has to produce evidence of real life rides or similar for their time/place to stand. I imagine this is all easy enough for bkool to introduce but it may be admin heavy to monitor. Perhaps they should delegate that power to race series admins?
Zsun have asked me to race with them this autumn, perhaps in cat c but possibly cat d:ohmy: and I have had to produce dob, weight, ftp and then these were checked against rides in Zwift to get an idea of w/kg. Nothing scientific and certainly not as onerous as the Masters series where you need to produce proof of ID, that is age really, to race.

I'll have a gander later.
Stats viewing doesn't work too well on a phone.
Have a look yourself by clicking on the details icon next to the challenge icon.
If you have several consecutive data points that are the exactly the same for power and speed that is most likely a power drop out.
If you have a cadence sensor that is independent and works direct to BSim.
If not your cadence might 'flat' as well.
Not sure why a remotely switched power connector would cause though unless by a freak they operate using exactly the same signals as BSim.
Or perhaps your wife is messing with you with her remote.
