Boxer's may I suggest instead of 10-20 watt increase a more modest 5 Watts increase. That maybe why you were fluctuating because it was a little too much at present.

Also do a fair few 1min iht upto 5 mins iht intervals slightly above what you can currently do. TR is ideal for this type of training.
I did think that 10-20 watts may be too much. However most of my recent bkool ftp values have come from full hour or near enough sessions from major climbs (BRVR) to CG rides I have done. So I thought that maybe I could ease it out 10 watts or more in 20 minutes. Going from 217-220 in an hour to 230ish in 20. Live and learn.

There are a few good hiit sessions in the bkool workout section. Some have taken me to the verge of xx(.

A suggestion, why not give ERG mode a try:

ERG mode allows you to control the desired load at all times since by automatically adjusting the resistance supplied by the trainerS, regardless of the speed, cadence or gear, to keep the load at the set value..

This allows you to do controlled workouts since the trainer will adapt to maintain the load you specify.

For example, you can program a training session where, after warming up, a 200W load is applied for 4 minutes, followed by a 2-minute recovery at 60W, repeated N times, and the trainer will adapt to maintain these specified load and time intervals regardless of the speed and gear ratio.

Note: The braking system on the trainer requires a minimum speed to supply certain resistances, meaning that if this speed is not reached, it will not be able to supply the specified load, in which case the speed will have to be increased.

To activate ERG mode, press the P key, or on a tablet, touch the power reading. After a few seconds, ERG mode will be activated at whatever power you are outputting at that moment.

To deactivate it, press the P key, or on a tablet, touch the power reading. The trainer resistance will again be adjusted to reflect the elevation profile.

When in ERG mode, the simulator will show the load in orange above the power reading while the mode is active.

Hope you had a great time lads and drank enough.

Yes, though a faster version Dean:laugh:

Not sure I did drink enough - 2 litres with some electrolytes but drank my first litre waiting for TST coz one of us was in the wrong meeting place

Post ride I have eaten and drunk, hit hid head on floor trying out nippers water slide:rolleyes: and am now recuperating. TST is a nice guy and rather fast with good power for a tall bloke.

I've used erg mode in the workout session. It hurts :B).

I just thought I'd try a full ftp test to see how I'd do. Not very well as I found out.

Still now I know what to expect I may give it another go after running a power test session in the velo. We shall see
