Just completed my first session...just a wee one to try it out....it doesnt seem to like my garmin sensor...took ages to pick it up and it was a bit eratic....the neighbours are gonna love me at the crack of dawn...what a racket

What Garmin sensor? My HRM works 100% and it is a bog standard Garmin.

Also, my Bkool is not that noisey, what tyre are you using?

Its the one that came with my edge 510.. it might just need adjusting...the tyre was a 28c gp 4 season ive swapped it for an old 28c gator...prob get a cheap full slick for itthough

Ive found with my HRM it gets better when you start to sweat a bit,

My trainer tyre (Kenda) runs pretty silently to be fair, unless you really give it some.

Just tried my Elite trainer tyre on a short velodrome run and noticed it makes a hell of a lot of difference in how noisey the trainer is, its so much quieter than a standard Conti Gatorskin tyre I had on. I just need to sort out a trainer mat now as the dog isn't too impressed with me using his bed.

One issue I have though, in regards to the tyres, is getting them to run smoothly on the trainer. I am using a new wheel, cassette and trainer tyre and it feels like there are high spots causing it to feel like the wheel is buckled and not running true. My old wheel and tyre was the same and I thought I either had a buckled wheel or the turbo roller wasn't balanced properly. I cannot notice any issues on the road only on the trainer, does anyone else have this problem? Anyone have any solutions?

Cheers

Mine run ok, not 100% perfect but pretty close.

My tyre is shedding dust and has got better so i am hopeful it will bed in.

I use one of these as a mat, the width is just about right http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/hi-gear-military-closed-cell-sleeping-mat-p143613

Had the same problem, I took the tire and tube out and refitted it, just make sure that the bead (if you using clinchers) is correctly seated in the rim and look for high/low spots when it's fitted and adjust where needed, it should run like a dream.

I don't think we should even try to compare a road rides stats with turbo ride stats, its a completly different ball game.

I don't think its a case of comparing road sessions with trainer sessions as its almost inevitable that you will go a lot faster on a turbo than on the road, hence why people are asking for the segments to be removed for trainer rides. Myself I just like to log the mileage whether its done on the trainer or out on the road. I'd feel a bit miffed if I did 50 miles on the trainer with nothing to show for it.

When fitting the tyre I made sure it was pretty evenly fitted all the way around, will take it off again later and re-fit to make sure.

Thanks
