I have a Great Crested Newt Survey going on tonight; guys came earlier to set the traps in our lake, they are coming again later to scan the lake with torches - yeah, really!! And our friends are due about 11 tomorrow morning ... so only chance I've got is 1st thing tomorrow morning (if I feel OK when I get up) or Sunday afternoon one our friends leave. Maybe have a quick go tomorrow, then another go on Sunday (@rob01792 might fancy a pop too on Sunday?). Hope I don't feel ropey again in the morning.

no I actually feel fine had a nice warm down with @Jim Brown after trying to keep my cadence over 95
once that Spanish rider passed there was no chance of me catching him i was already maxed
I'm still a bit off from end last summer where i was about 270 watt avg
still need to get more in as DD is 5 weeks sunday

Ahhh... pop bottles and canes.. I'm very impressed you have a lake. I've got 6 lakes/lagoons at work.. oh and one huge Loch.. no GCN here. Honest guv..

And actually I beat Bill it seems. I got off to a late start by a second or two, as my son ruined my spindown with the question, he asks me the most: "Where's mum"?

Just a shame you don't ever seem to appear in the results.
I was flat out on that sprint though and you stayed right on my tail, which surprised me. Looks like I need to be a bit more careful with you in future

Which results are you talking about? In all honesty, you seemed to be waiting for me at that last km, so I thought why not have a go at it. :-) Your average watts were way below your standard, where as I actually gained a level (now Active 8), so you would have no trouble beating me, had you wanted to. I used to love catching newts as a kid. Never difficult to find, just go find a pond and there would be newts in it.
Now its hard even finding one of those ponds as they have filled them all in and built on them,

Just been out with the lads and found 2 females crested newts and 2 common newts ... we didn't know we had any! 40 pop bottles and canes are laid and they're coming back in the morning to check them. HID and I are wildlife fanatics so for us this is very exciting
