Mine would often be just on the verge of cramping during the handicap races, particularly if I decided to push on any of the downhills. That's when I knew I had the cadence just about right.
Thats what was happening yesterday. The 2 4 minute z1 periods during the workout between the z3 to z5 sets and between the z5 to z6 sets nearly had me off the bike cramping up

About half way. :bicycle:

I was chasing Bill^_^

Strava and Zwift show 490w on that bit. NOW if bkool gave that consistent power with the NEO i would be back in a shot

edit. I was trying to spin out clicking in my back. Funniest thing. I twisted and fell into my seat as my bus home lurched forward. Left my back and hips sore. As i rode by back kept clicking. I had to cancel my ride lie down and stretch before the clicking stopped. All ok now though:okay:

The next Handicap Chase is Pico Peñas de Dios

Next run is 7pm (plus Warm Up and Start Time) tonight, Tuesday 7th March 2017.

Start Times (Handicaps) are as follows... (when underway time equals or exceeds the given Start Time).

If anyone else wants to take part, can they let us know a competitive time for the stage, or failing that their fitness level and who they usually finish close to.

Instructions are here... Chain Gang Handicap Race
I have recorded a short video showing the procedure here

As a newb, an I just check the procedure for the handicap tonight....

1. First riders go off at 7pm
2. Just before your own start time you go into bsim and select the scheduled league event for tonight
3. You sit motionless until your start time (which will be 7:06:40 for me)
4. Go like the clappers for the next 40 mins or so
5. Fall off the bike and crawl into the fridge for a beer

Is that about right?

I take it is an individual rather than TTT...

7pm the warm up starts for 10 minutes. First rider out at 7.10pm.
You would be off at 7.16.40
Make sure that you enter before your start time as on the screen you will need to enter a password 'chase' usually to get into the ride. Then wait the few seconds to start the ride at the correct time.

Ok - Thanks Daddy P.

I'll take it easy on my ride home tonight so I can give it my best!

For some reason I can't edit the instructions (over a year old?) so there are a few differences now.

1. We have changed the Handicap start time to 7pm, to match the Thursday night time, and also the 10 minute warm up starts at 7pm, so the actual Handicap chase starts at 7:10pm plus your Start Time.

2. You will find the event in the Search -> Routes -> Live section, by using the Filter. Click Filter, enter Handicap in Route name and click Filter.

3. Best not to join until just before your Start Time, but remember to give enough time to respond to the Do you want to start behind the last rider prompt, and say No to this prompt. You can sit on the line if you like, I will take your Moving Time as your result, so how long you are on the Start Line does not matter, but it does affect your bkool classification for the session. Try not to start early, or indeed late, as the on the road competition is what makes it interesting, and this depends on the accuracy of the Handicap and the promptness of your start.

4. Oh yes... but make sure you have warmed up in advance!

5. Cool down, fall off, stretch properly, shower and then fridge...

Enjoy! :-)

Slightly out of date Instructions are here... Chain Gang Handicap Race
I have recorded a short video showing the procedure here
The Video is also slightly out of date, as they have fixed the password problem so you can enter it the first time!

This is not quite right peterob.

2. You actually have to join the Live ride and not select a scheduled league event.

You therefore have to search for the ride using the Search tab the filter using the name of the ride to find it. There will also be a password to input and Geoff will let us know what it is just before the race begins.

edit: Just as Geoff has just posted above.

edit again: @gbrown Thanks for taking into consideration that my legs are rather tired ATM.

Yeah, looks like you'll be taking it easy and still winning with that start time Bill especially as you seem to be really on form at the moment...
