What would the plan be @theboxers - split the group into two relay teams and both start the same course at the same time and compete to see which team wins?

Could be quite good fun with mixed ability teams as the gap between the two teams goes up and down throughout the day as riders change
Andy's El Teide could be an interesting one to give them ... 5+ hour ride that will teach them that cycling is not for wimps!

Of the 45 rides made by 15 riders over 3 stages on Saturday only 2 have not landed/cannot be viewed.
Galapagar velodrome - Mr P Tatche
Cinctorres-Ares - Mr P Tatche
Having said that:
AAAC (AKA skinny git) apparently average 5.9 watts/kg over 20km (471 watts) in the velodrome after 2 tough stages (suspect BKool gifting).
I averaged just over 420 watts in the Cinctorres, one of my best averages for a long time considering.
I average 412 watts in Stouby so I was working a whole lot harder than I thought I was considering we cruised the final km.
Amazing what a bit of competition with loads of folk watching can do.

I am now a Pro 10 and need to average 433 watts to get a blue hat!
Edit: Should have tried harder in Cinctorres!

Hmmm, odd that Pep's second and third rides are still not showing. Perhaps he didn't save them...?

Not sure yet.

Problem is really the size difference. Heights from 5 4 to 6 2 or 3. One bike is not going to cut it. So when some riders change the bikes must be done as well and the cadence sensor. Not difficult just awkward.

The shortage of skewers is also an issue. I am trying to get a couple of bikes sorted for the shorter riders but I only have enough skewers for 3 bikes. So choices may have to be made.

Still I have a couple of weeks to get organised

Ok some progress on the organisational front :stop:

It looks like we are going with this

2 teams of 6 or 7. A couple of the guys are unable to cycle due to injuries, I did suggest pedalling with one leg but got a very dirty look

One Velo session of 250 laps / 38.8 miles. This will be a race between the 2 teams. :bicycle::bicycle:
One Velo session of 400 laps / 62.1 miles. This will be ridden until completed. Not a race, but could develop into one

Combined total if completed 1300 laps / 201.8 miles.

Works out to about 15 miles per rider. Probably more than most have done in the last 10 years :surrender:

Starting about 9am finishing about 4pm. We'll need to average about 17 mph, riding speed, to complete the whole lot in time, allowing for rider and bike/sensor swaps.

Edit

Oh it's a BYOT event. That's bring your own towel.

All of Pep's rides have landed now.
Actually look fine other than some low cadence peaks in Cinctorres whilst descending and the lack of a heart beat in the Velodrome.
How the feck does he average 527 watts (7.1 w/kg) at an average 130 bpm dipping as low as 114 bpm and peaking at massive 150 bpm.

The video he put on facebook showed his HRM had slipped down due to the effort he was putting in - he even made a comment about it. The Danish guys didn't wear HRMs on purpose because of interference worries with them all in the same room.

Agreed -Pep's HR is amazingly low!

Probably moved the motor back in his bkool unit so has less if an effect?!
Tbh, a lot of this is about maintaining momentum which the power riders are able to do more easily than lighter riders. He's strong and light so can do it all.
