I have composed myself now , Saturday 5pm sounds good, the gradients were ok, kept me switched on for getting in the right gear in time. I'm looking forward to starting a ride the same time as everyone else lol147 mph, so that's why I couldn't see you for dust!
Well done everyone, especially Kipster, I couldn't keep up with you, just had to let you get a gap on me. As you say, shame it crashed but I don't doubt I couldn't have caught you. I can't adjust the rides once they pass classification, and I wouldn't worry about it anyway, you deserved the win.
Turns out I beat my personal best, got in a bit of battle with a guy called Lars, got back past him and pulled away a bit before he appeared to quit (or his bkool crashed). There seemed to be loads of interlopers turn up at the start, as if word of our 7pm ride had got out, we were nearly out numbered at one point. I was hoping to get a bit of a train going, but one of the interlopers zoomed off then Kipster came past me like a jet and I just tried to stay with them.
Sorry for all the glitches, it was my first course and perhaps the gradients are a bit all over the place, and the simulator can't deal with it. It is nice to have a rolling course for a change, long climbs or long flats/descents do get a bit boring at times.
Thanks to everyone who turned up, shall we try again at 5pm on Saturday for anyone who missed it or would like to try again?
Cheers,
Geoff
Hope you have a good weekend Bill, hopefully bkool will have helped you along, let us know how you get on.LOL They demoted me to Amateur 1 then I got back to Active 5 with my Ventoux rides.
Not to worry, I'm back in the Virtual World again at last and I can try and work back up with an Alpe d'Huez ride or two. Don't think I'll be getting a score in this weeks League rides as I won't be doing them due to my real world race this weekend. Looking forward to my wobbly kneed attempts next week though.
Enjoy your race tonight guys .
I was trying to stay with the interloper that went out front. He got 30 seconds on me, but I managed to close him back to 8 seconds before I glitched and went into over drive. Eventually beat him by 3 minutes
I'm in Saturday. Just booked 4 days cycling in Majorca in April need all the training I can get
Sounds great, is that with the Stephen Roche school?
Geoff
My laborious communication farce with BKool is still ongoing. With an average of 4 days between emails, my turbo will be out of warranty before it is sorted. I have been told they won't refund, only swap out the resistance unit. But the time frame between telling and actioning could be dissappointing. Spending lonely evenings staring longingly at my injured turbo trainer, and sobbing pathetically at the thought of my fitness levels ebbing away.
But I will be back.....soon I hope.
I'm glad it fixed itself, but I'd also like to know why it was wrong in the first placePowertap and Bkool now bizarrely at one ...

Garmin with Powertap

W' Work (kJ): 17

No idea what W' Work (kJ) is, or why it's so different? Perhaps to do with lack of elevation change on Garmin?
I'm glad it fixed itself, but I'd also like to know why it was wrong in the first place
W' is the work done above your FTP. More info here.
One possible reason is that your FTP on Bkool is different from the FTP set on the Garmin.
