Hi all. Thinking about buying the pro bkool. Can anyone answer me the following Please;
What is the maximum % gradient that the unit can replicate?
Also , how realistic is the gradient?

Many thanks and sorry if this has been asked previously

Hi Jenno. My pro seems to be able to replicate 12 or 15% as it has me in the small ring at the front and the big ring at the rear. I think 42 - 25. It's fairly realistic apart from the wheel spin if you get out of the saddle.

because your always streets ahead of life like riders !

You pulled me in by a minute or so at one point. Then I think you got out of the saddle and your wheel was spinning so you lost some of it again. I wasn't out of my seat once as I knew I'd lose time. It was interesting watching the time distance between us and trying to get inside your head and thinking "what's Berty trying to do now"? "Is he using intimidation tactics against me"? So yeah, it felt like you were on the mountain hunting me down

I started my BKool career at Amateur 4 too. Had it for just over 5 weeks now, and my gains seem to be pretty rapid at the moment. But time only will tell how long that will continue. Hope we can get thursdays ride to work. And yes we should all be able to see each other. I have done a live ride in 3D mode before in this manner.

Are we gonna see each other on the road on Thursday night? Hope so.

Well I doubt you'll see much of me, as I suspect that I'll very rapidly disappear behind you!

I did wonder if they could do a little picture in picture type view so you could see riders following, kind of like looking over your shoulder?

I know it shows when someone start to draft you.

the only thing going through my head was ' it must be nearly over by now !' apart from the bit where the road works were where i was hoping the man was going to turn his sign to stop! i know i stood up a few times but didnt realise that it made such a difference ( it may just have been me having a breather ) i will try to sit down the next one . but taking nothing away from you giving me a sound thrashing there - fantastic time . i know there wasnt much left in the tank when i got to the top

On the Bkool web site it lists

"Up to 1,200W. Can simulate gradients over 20%."

Seems pretty good to me, although I've not tried much above 12.5%. I certainly would have struggled up Alpe d'Duez without a 32 tooth sprocket in the back.

So on Thursday night do we all have to log on at the same time and then wait for the warm up to end or exactly how do we start at precisely the same time?

I think it might be a good idea to try a trial run (My 35 years with computers showing there), anyone fancy helping this evening? Would be a shame if we all made the effort to get online at the same time and ended up riding alone.

If someone can spare the time this evening I am thinking of a run anyway sometime around 5-6 pm.

Suggest we just try out starting from the league tab and then see if we can get two or more riding in the same session.

Then we can post what works here so others can follow the same process.

Cheers,

Geoff

Berty and Bill I know you have both posted comments on my Bkool but I cant see them so don't think I'm being ignorant or anything as I don't know what you put.
I think it's bkool playing up again. I think you, me and Berty all posted on Adski's wall. I also can't see what I posted now as when I click on (show more) bkool just tells me to go and take an FTP test to which I say f-off :cursing:

I notice that "Cycling around the world" has a lot of members now and had 5 stages but still hardly anyone showing up in the results. Only Darryn, Berty, Astroman.

Anyone know if the admin there know that they have to alter the parameters to make it work?

I'll be trying to get a workout around about then so I'll see if I can find you.

OK, suggest I start the league session at 5:30 and then you guys try the same.

You could look for it in the Live sessions and try and join, but then it may not get listed in the league.

I suggest you try starting from the league tab after 5:30 but before 5:40 and see if you join in the warm up? If there is no sign of anyone else, you might then try looking on the live tab?

I'll have my iPad with me so will try and update this thread.

Cheers,

Geoff
