More than me anyway, couldn't play if my life depended on it.
There's that personal touch you give, that can't be got from a shop bought set.

Suppose it'd be for the best. Yer jaw would drop when you see the prices.
You can buy 3D printed santa's, in Gold Silk! The bottom has just dropped out of your prospective market in that case.
Fair enough, always thought the recommended way of formatting was in another device. You gave the desktop a slap for not doing it's job right.
All sorted now?

I did try to learn but as with all things now,
I never bother..
Like morse code, it used to be you had to decode at least 12 words per minute and to send the same,
I did the class until 4 or 5 weeks before the exam and just chucked it.. why? I still don't know.
I was doing easily 14/15 words on each account as well...I'd a habit of being flippant.

Parcel man 5 stops away,
black and white PLA BF deal...
no more Gold:laugh:

Card in bin...can't risk using it even as a backup.

Good morning :hello:
Up as parcel about to drop...
Rest of the day will be mine:ohmy:
Stay warm and dry folks:cuppa:
Owdo
Has said parcel been dropped yet?
What'll you do with the rest o'day, bank it, guard it, keeping it safe...
Easy do the dry part, doesn't look as though it'll rain today.

I've done similar, tried to learn to play but my mind wasn't interested. Can just about name the pieces used.
You didn't like the feeling of being back in school.

Only five stops. Should have been by now then.
Thought you said you'd not be pressing that "Buy" button this year. Yer will power is slipping.
You not a fan of gold PLA anymore.

8.05 am.. on the dot.
It did rain at one point overnight, 0.5mm on the dial today.
I did do some gardening just after 11ish, once it had got to a balmy 5c..
Did half of what I needed to do..
Mrs M arrived with the holy terror who would just want to be out the back with me..
grass was still rather wet so...
cuppa time.

I could do that, just couldn't get in to it.
Too busy using dice and cards at lunchbreaks..
It was just leaving the depot and as I was 5th on the drop off list...
motorway almost the whole way except the last three..
the early morning 'jam' that used to do our heads in would be cleared by then.
All these macho blokes trying to move into the fast lane, we found you were quicker staying in the slow lane and by a significant margin, 5 mins. Normally 20 mins stuck in the build-up but if we stayed in the slow lane? 15 mins..
IMG_1057.jpg

Had to use the hall lights so a bit shiny, shiny.
Finished it off just there, last was the queen which I had 'cloned' to 2 printing so had to stop it and redo the file so only one..
I'm thinking black for the opposite side..
Mrs M doesn't know yet but if I use felt on the base, it'll be her job....
I did the print of all 8 pawns on the same file..doesn't save time printing but the cooling down process etc.
I have to go down later and a good clean with isopropyl alcohol of the print mat sets it up for tomorrow

With your parcel! That's yer good luck used up for this month.
Too cold to rain round these parts overnight. There's the look of snow in the air, not showing any signs of going anywhere.
You gave up yer gardening to keep her entertained, and indoors. You'll finish cutting the grass another day...
Nice sharp blade would go through it like it wasn't there.
Decent cuppa?

Name the pieces?
What sort of school did you go to.
Dice and cards at lunch breaks!
Blimey, best I've been given was a one hour timeslot, where he didn't turn up. And delivered it to the wrong address, taking a picture of the door as proof of delivery.
Seven miles from the nearest motorway junction, so its "A" & "B" roads with a few unclassified thrown in.
I used to like going over/under the motorway and seeing everything headed in the same direction as myself stationary. I'd often see work vehicles sat in the traffic.

Looks good, even if a bit shiny in the picture.
I can already hear the question of "Why didn't you print them on the felt?" being asked.
They all cool off together...
Give it the best you have, it deserves it. And keep the elbow grease clear.

I'd a pal who 'delivered ' at the start (when it really took off) of this type of next day delivery stuff..(80s), there were others from the start of the 70s.
the mob was Connect ????. can't remember the full name.
His delivery area was..
Screenshot 2024-11-27 224743.jpg

Yep, some area, imagine how many vans cover this nowadays?
He had minimum three days he delivered packages to a clothing manufacturer in Campbeltown..
I'd hate to work out the square mileage of that, I occasionally went with him on my days off..
9.30am to pick up his deliveries in Greenock then off into the wild west, long day on the road.
The car that delivered to me today had 5 deliveries (and more I'd guess) alone in this scheme.
Lasted 18 months, unbelievable to think he never got stuck in bad weather...must have been a mild winter.
I remember one delivery of a letter, we'd gone over the bridge over the Atlantic and stopped in an estate at 17.30, the letter had been picked up exactly 48 hours previous in South Africa..be even quicker now, skies are full of cargo planes heading to NA just now..

The big river app will let you know most times once its within 10 stops to you.
Earliest delivery here was 7.40 am....
I dunno if I could do the job, maybe with a bit more travelling in it..
I wonder how may packages they deliver...

Anyhow, gold side is done and I think black will be the other side.
Busy in the morning so might be later or even Friday as no hurry TBH.

I was one of the rascals in secondary..
I had no interest (I was dux boy in primary)
I even stayed on but never sat the O levels of the day as I left for a job that paid £5 12/6p per week

Catalogue deliveries could at best give a date/day of delivery. I was an agent for two, one based in Bradford the other in Liverpool. I used to get them all delivered to my address, unless they were large items, then I'd let the person know it had arrived. Two or three drivers covering a similar sized area to the one you showed.

Drivers today in that area? Three dozen at least, just so they can meet promised delivery times. Would an extra day really matter to most folk.
They don't seem to be able to drive in bad weather these days.
I'm still awaiting delivery of a postcard posted in Holyhead nearly 40 years ago.
A car will take as many as will fit on the backseat. Apparently they can't use the boot, or the front seat.

Have you broken the news on the felt bases yet?
Any real differences in the time taken using gold silk to plain black on the same project pieces.

I were one the teachers couldn't wait to see the back off. I'm almost certain they had a party on my last day at school. Then I turned up a few months later to collect the certificates. They refused to post them out.
Only the one "O" level, English.
Started on a YOP scheme the same year.

Catalogues? not many around now...
School, teachers were brand new..
You HAD to wear school uniform but I wore Dunlop green or red(soles) tennis (?) sandshoes, the Nike of their day.
Got hauled in and dressed down and told them, no footwear is specified..
Bob won..
all of a sudden, summer footwear became the norm instead of sensible shoes

Early start round the GCs and shops..
Bit parky out...
The old rasta tammy and biffo round the neck required...
Now back in the warmth, bin just emptied so out I better go.
Mrs M hasn't been informed about the felt, Ill wait to see how it all looks, pawns (8of) printing just now.. I almost forgot to change the pla:ohmy:
Garage is so cold too...
Better go and do my daily 'doings'...
then another cuppa....

Dropped to nearly five below overnight, with the same promised for tonight. We'll see.

They're still going, Freeman's, Littlewoods... Fewer people wanting to be agents for them as well since the hamper scandal.
Fresh out of teacher training...
Sensible footwear was the rule, trainers were allowed. But not mucky ones you'd used in athletics.
Dunlop, not a name I've had on my feet in years.
You found a bit the never thought about and exploited it.
Bet they liked you after that though.

Cheaper in the mornings at the GC's
T'ain't that bad.
You'd more than that I bet. Gloves, extra pairs of socks, thicker coite.
Inside and having to go out to do something you should have done before going in...
You've replied here since, so it can't have been as bad as I thought. How is typing with your nose going?
Don't stay out in it for too long.
Earn yer daily bread. Although shopping should have got you out of it.
Enjoyed!

Aye, yon hamper thing,
they should have been hung, drawn and quartered for that..
along with him that raided the pension pot for his company, Green (?)..
I find it incredulous that you can run a company into the ground then start up another immediately...
This limited company idea is an invitation for rogues...
I've a book on aliens I'll need to get stuck into before the person who loaned it to me appears..
I just can't get going with it..
It's like somebody has AI'ed a timeline and ChatGPT or something came up with it, then they have expanded on it, the other book I'm reading seems the same.
Most books I remember reading (bios) have mentioned something then have expanded on the events from it in the future.
These two look very robotic in the way things are written, maybe an alien has written the first one mentioned...
whilst sitting in an Inn in Rachel.....google it..

Bread ? funnily enough I just made my own (breadmaker)...

Wee bit warmer at 4c around half one.
Wrap yerssen up, sit down on yer comfy chair and stop losing body heat.

Lived not too far from me, and on my old commute
In the shop, working, when the sales rep answered a call, the floor just went quiet with about a dozen people looking in our direction. When he asked later I pointed out the name of the person involved in the hamper scandal was much like his.
Worked in a shop where each shop was set up as separate business, all under the same owner. Found myself at the local tax office answering questions of why I'd applied for another NI Number. Turns out "I" was being paid twice, but only one into an account I'd opened.
49 separate limited companies had come and gone, under his name before I started working for him. Took the tax man to finally close him down.
Almost as though there's bits from various other books been slightly reworded before being put in that one.
Annoying as hell, as you feel you've read it before.

I've got a yogurt maker too..
keep meaning to make some....
nice and tart not yon watery stuff...

Light rain here and 1.3c so might be too iffy to head out early if temps don't go up..
I haven't had my 10am pint this week

I'd a spell years ago where I delved into Dreamland Resort and associated stuff, Roswell  etc, still pop into secret bases (ssh).

Cuppa time...

Sounds as though it's lying unloved, and unused by yourself though.
Any recipes lined up for when you decide to use it?

No rain, but still the look of snow in the air. You might have to wait until temperatures rise before heading out.
Another! After 10pm...

Roswell is there, as is area 51. Where they said no to a USAF mission from using the runway in an emergency landing.
Which bases, secret or otherwise are you sneaking into.

Get it down yer, good and hot on a cold night.
