You'll be looking at around 5-6 degrees centigrade, well above freezing.

I wasnt talking about the ground freezing I was talking about HW freezing.

Sportives are great when the weather is reasonable but not so great when you cant feel your hands and feet anymore, in colder weather I can manage about 2 hours before my feet go numb and I cant feel them anymore and I know this so I make sure my rides in autumn/winter are shorter to take account of this but it doesnt help in keeping the fitness from over the summer.

This year was a pain because the snow just wouldn't go away there was still snow blocking the roads over here in April, here are a couple of pics I took in April on my way to the cafe I came across some road closed signs on a road I usually use so I thought I would pop round the corner and see what the problem was:

This is a hill with a wall going up along side it and the snow was level with that wall so about 3 - 4 foot deep all the way down in April

Do I need to get the spray plaster out?
Antibiotics for me from the dentist I have an abcess where the wisdom teeth came out, it was not ouchy before after the bloody man poked and prodded it is ouchy now! Apparently a tooth was also chipped at the back (I wondered what the strange feeling patch was) when they did removal and so now I need to go back for a filling grrr at least it is all deemed under the same course of treatment and is not costing even more! Yes please to :cuppa: for grumpy in the corner

Cycling in the snow is fun. I did an 18 mile round trip (should have been 12 but I put it an extra loop) on the bike to my counselling session last winter in the snow when almost everybody else (99% non-cyclists) rang in to cancel. :thanks:

Cycling in the snow is fun (when it has not been too compacted by cars), but the CS3 in London (which in part is shared path) was lethal and not pleasent to ride on at all, which meant I went very very slowly along parts of it.

I don't ride on any roads that aren't likely to have been gritted when it's ice/snow -definitely avoid anything that includes the word "path". Which I do most of the time, admittedly...

Ah, yes, I normally avoid cycle paths, but the CS3 isn't too badly designed (goes along Cable Street towards Tower Hill), and is much safer than trying to go along part of the CS2 (which gets big heavy fast moving vehicles through Aldgate).

They seem to grit the major roads here, but unless you are right in Central London I found the bike paths and pedestrian pavements were pretty bad.

:hugs: Puddles....I hate dentists :ninja:

So do I, I can get quite hysterical I am not dentist friendly I have bitten one and also I have had a hygienist by the throat and told her I have said 4 times now not to scrape at the bottom of my front teeth it hurts lots, do it again and I will knock you out I can't think why she refused to carry on, I caused quite a stink with that one and refused to pay.

When I went to have work done this time they surprised me and did everything (wisdom tooth out on opposite sides at top, and two fillings on opposite sides at bottom) I was very ill on their reception carpet when I came out :shy:on one day luckily small people were on hols and I was not happy but I had been taken by hubby and escorted to chair and then "minded" whilst I was there, I wish they would just knock me out.

I can't be bothered going through all of that, so I just faint instead!

It is 12 years since I last went, to have 2 teeth out. I warned the dentist that I was a fainter but he assured me that fainting was merely a response to inadequate blood flow to the head, tilted the chair right back so my feet were level with my head, and got on with it ...

So ... when I came round from the ensuing nightmarish faint, I had a very worried dentist and nurse standing over me!

That's more likely to make me pass out than being upright

There are some well-travelled people on this thread, so may I ask a question about Kenya? How long does it take between it starting to get dark, at dusk, and being really dark? I spent six weeks in Mauritius some time ago, and remember it being a very short interval between being sunny and warm on the beach, and then dark.

Kenya is on the Equator, whereas Mauritius is 23 degrees south of the Equator. So if sunset is at 6.30pm, when does it get dark?
