Think I'm going to be testing my new waterproof jacket a lot in the next few days.

It's quite warm but pretty damp out there. Might just have to start putting some tea and cake stops in my routes to dodge the showers.

We will not be taking part in, or watching the sportive. Although I hope it goes well. I suspect we will be doing some nice walks up in the Pennines. Years ago I'd be out running the trails but sadly not any more. But I've got the boots, goretex and rucksack - so we'll spend our time plodding

I was hoping to go over to Welshpool and race the train, but with rain and 30+mph winds forecast I'm not sure I fancy it.

I have a random cycle event where you have to visit as many churches as possible tomorrow. All for charidy mate! . I suspect I shall be getting wet.

Exactly which is why I don't tempt fate by deliberately riding on ice when I don't need to. All cycling carries risks I know that but why make it more dangerous by doing stupid things.

I agree! I crashed heavily on ice 3 times in one New Year's Day MTB ride and that rather put me off ...
