As long as I breathe, I attack.
I was waiting 2 months for the operation as fracture clinic kept telling me to come back and see, ended up private to get it done .I was in the turbo after a couple of weeks and outside again in maybe 2 months

My x-ray looks very similar! Good call to go private as if you had waited too long it may not have healed right - so I was told by the surgeon.

back on flat bar road bike this morning, no traffic as Friday is national work from home day. Weather not as nice as yesterday, bit of a head breeze. No traffic, fastest trip into work for a long. Wish everyday could be like this.

Who stole the 🌞 A bit grey and dank on route to the Station this morning. The air felt dense too 👎

I'm almost tempted to cycle up the line a bit in the evening when it's supposed to be back but I probably have the wrong GPS tracker (not mapper) for that. The easy thing is to get off the train a stop early but that would be after the predicted warmth 🤔

There was rain threatened at the south end of my commute but dry at the northern end so I got off the train a stop early and had a 18mile rather than a 4miles commute and apart from the large Huntingdon town and its loop road roundabout it's alot more relaxed 😌

I'm aware this is a 'what if' situation, but cycling into the city this morning, passed a couple on my left who had a wee dog with them on an extended lead trailing at least three metres behind said couple who were apparently oblivious of the dog's proximity from them.
Thought crossed my mind that if said dog had decided to take a wander across onto the road in front of me, would have been pretty disastrous for me and the dog.
It didn't, but a least I was aware of the possibility and am pretty damn sure I'd have got the blame - !

Ref. my post above, as the GLW later pointed out, my route was also a bus & taxi lane, so if the dog had run out and either was there, end of dog and troubled driver.

I remember years ago on a shared cycle path numpty owner on a blind bend let their dog wonder across the path, I ducked at the last minute and used language that would have made sailor embarrassed. Common sense just seems to go out the door for some folks

Cycling into day of flat bar, killed new spokes of road bike thanks to south london pot holes. Nice cold start, not as cold as has been but cold enough to have some of the winter gear back on after mild starts last week. Difficult not to lose your rag when you get close cut up at traffic lights to get through lights, taken out on blind bend by abbey travel (professional driver) and finally to minutes from work squeezed by lorry turning right on a round about. Still alive just.

I have seen this on the Railway Path. Dog owner one side, chatting to someone, Fido on the other side sniffing/peeing & trip wire of leash across the path....Loathe those things!. Some people forget they're actually sharing the path with bikes.

hammered it in today, starting to recover last summers speed lost over winter also feel more powerful this year, probably just a tail wind. Glad to be on the bike nice sunny start to the day only 4 but who cares slapped on winter gloves, ski socks, hat and realised as got the end of the road this was overkill and was sweating all the way into work.

Woke up this morning and a few things went wrong so I was a bit late in leaving the house and typically it was a headwind all the way. I managed to get a whole lot of polite drivers waiting for me, which gave me the motivation to press on. Just when I was dying I had (surprise, surprise) an Audi start to overtake me on a bend. Until they realised I was going too fast. When they did get by it gave me great satisfaction that there was a red light at the bottom of the hill, just about to turn to green and 1/4 of a mile along the urban dual carriageway the lights were green and I got through faster than him. Aided by a learner giving be a wide berth in the outside lane and going the speed limit. I could have made the early train after all. TBH though I prefer this one, it stop less, so is only 5 later arriving (despite being 10mins later leaving) and is always waiting on the first platform (no need for stairs and a warm seat when it's cold).

Don't know where all the cars had got to today, but they weren't on the roads. Normal commuting time, don't believe the schools are off. Just one fo those days that make it extra fun. Damp under tyre, but not raining. Plenty of birdsong around too.

I noticed this too. Had a very clear run in this morning.
