Don't know where all the cars had got to today, but they weren't on the roads. Normal commuting time, don't believe the schools are off. Just one fo those days that make it extra fun. Damp under tyre, but not raining. Plenty of birdsong around too.

Yep, same here although it was relative given that my commute is from the SE London 'burbs to Central London.

Chilly again but hopefully like yesterday it will warm up so I can get the legs out

2° when I left home at 7am, but seemed to warm up pretty quick.

What route do you do Stevo?

I do a 'hybrid' drive & ride commute Ian - drive from near Sevenoaks, ditch the car in the Bromley/Beckenham area and ride into town via Sydenham, Forest Hill, E. Dulwich, Walworth, Elephant, Waterloo, over Waterloo Bridge the through C. London to NW1. It's a bit too long time-wise to do the whole thing on a bike when I've got a full working day in town - and I'd be absolutely knackered! Plus not sure I fancy doing any of the available routes up the N. Downs ridge in Winter.

How about you?

You climbing the Crystal Palace hump then?

I moved last October to Rochester, but for the previous 17 years I commuted from Orpington to Greenwich along the A21. I now do a train from Rochester to Bromley then cycle the 8 miles to Greenwich. On Fridays if the weather is nice I cycle all the way home, a nice ride of 27 miles.

Talking of the A21 I used to know a couple of Bike Radar members, one being Punning Stunt iirc. Great lad, quick too.

Close - I'm coming from a bit further East so I go over the Col de Forest Hill past the Horniman Museum.

Until last year I may have passed you in the car as my normal route in is up the A21 to Bromley.

I remember that username from years ago as well.

I feel sorry for people who work shifts, especially on cold dark mornings.
Maybe you're used to it, but I imagine it messes with your body clock, meal times etc.

All of the above and studies have shown that shift workers are liable to die earlier and have greater chance of depression but its the best paid job i could get and i need to support the family so its a case of....

it was cold but not that cold , temperature always drops at sunrise. I did have to go and get the winter gloves though .
Coming home i missed the rain but it still felt colder than yesterday so i kept the arm and legwarmers on and a base layer which was a bit too much .
legs still a bit tight from sunday so no weight training tonight
