Do they allow motorbikes in the train now?

2nd day back to commuting on the bike (first was last Friday - I only go into the office on Wed and Fri).

Slightly chillier than expected but still doable in shorts and summer jersey + arm warmers. Shouldn't need the arm warmers on the way home. Trying a new route through Cardiff, avoiding the junction where I had my crash in August. So far seems better, only 0.2 miles further.

It has taken much longer than I liked to get my fitness back to a level where I was ready to commute (15 miles each way).

A nice quiet Commute and mostly dry. As I got to town I felt some moisture in the air but nothing to wet anything 🙂

On the big boys bike today as I'm cycling the 27 miles home. It's a bit grey and overcast this morning with a little bit of rain predicted but should be dry and mild for the ride home this afternoon.
It's a Friday.. yay! Very unbusy train, not that this one is usually busy anyway, and hopefully nice and quiet traffic free roads later.

Piddling it down so I have kit over the back of my chair drying

I started my garmin by mistake when I was walking through the station and never switched my Varia on until I was on road. Forgetting they don't talk to each other when I do that. It was a nice evening though, so instead of turning right on the urban dual carriageway (London Road by the Posh ground if anyone knows it), I went straight to Yaxley , it's got a fair few mini roundabouts though so cue folk not giving way to their right when it's only a bike 🙄

Lovely morning but got caught out by the thin layer of frost on the car's windscreen thanks to the hour earlier start.

Had to again walk the bike past the now-five-week-old bed of hawthorn cuttings that remains littering to tow path despite my request to the Canal and River Trust nearly a month ago for them to clear it properly... this bullshit currently having contributed three punctures to my commute (despite my pushing the bike past it for a number of weeks) and last night a 1" thorn stuck in my foot after I evidently took some of it home with me

Other than having to accommodate the above and my lashed-up seatpost shim nearly failing due to my forgetting to clean it at the weekend it was a fairly uneventful ride.

In addition to the the lovely sunny morning the universe was particularly generous; gifting me both unfeasibly crisp sausages and a Kryptonite lock cable found en-route - which will be put to good use if nobody on the local FB lost and found page claims it
